The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Pattern Cutter to join our Product Development team and play a critical role in transforming design concepts into production-ready patterns.

This role requires a strong understanding of leather goods construction, pattern development, fit, functionality, and manufacturing feasibility. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Developers, Designers, and Sample Room teams to ensure accurate execution of product specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and create patterns for handbags, wallets, small leather goods, belts, and accessories.
  • Interpret design sketches, technical drawings, and specifications to develop accurate patterns.
  • Review and refine patterns to ensure functionality, aesthetics, and production feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Sampling teams during prototype and sample development.
  • Conduct pattern corrections and modifications based on buyer feedback and technical requirements.
  • Ensure consistency of measurements, construction details, and fit across product ranges.
  • Work closely with craftsmen and sample makers to resolve construction-related challenges.
  • Support the transition of approved samples into bulk production.

Desired Profile

  • Min 5–8 years of experience as a Pattern Cutter within leather goods manufacturing.
  • Prior experience with Optitex
  • Strong understanding of handbag and small leather goods construction.
  • Knowledge of leather properties, reinforcement techniques, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to independently create and modify patterns.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with international brands or export houses will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with pattern software and technical drawing tools is desirable.
