Required Skills & Experience

Required to assess and tune a high-volume Oracle environment hosted on AWS and supporting AVEVA ERM. The consultant will be expected to identify and resolve CPU, I/O, and disk queue bottlenecks; optimise SQL queries, custom views, scheduled jobs, and large-scale data extraction workloads; review database configuration and sizing; implement performance improvements; and establish sustainable monitoring and governance practices.

Essential Experience Deep Oracle DBA and SQL performance tuning expertise. Proven experience diagnosing and resolving CPU-bound and I/O-bound Oracle workloads. Strong knowledge of execution plans, indexing strategies, optimizer statistics, wait-event analysis, and workload monitoring. Experience optimising large-scale ETL, reporting, API-driven data extraction, and batch-processing environments. Familiarity with Oracle deployments on AWS. Ability to work closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams to drive measurable performance improvements. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain findings, recommendations, risks, and trade-offs.

Given the nature of the customer issue, looking for a consultant who can rapidly assess the environment, identify root causes, and deliver tangible performance improvements within the engagement period.
