Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in managing Oracle databases hosted on Azure Virtual Machines. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in database performance tuning, security, automation, and cloud service operations. This role requires hands-on technical proficiency and a proactive approach to database reliability and optimization in cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration: Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases running on Azure Virtual Machines.

• Performance Optimization: Implement performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization for improved efficiency.

• Patching & Upgrades: Apply database patches, manage version upgrades, and validate post-upgrade stability.

• Audit & Compliance: Configure auditing policies, support compliance documentation, and ensure security best practices.

• Monitoring & Alerts: Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track CPU, memory, IO, backup status, and storage usage.

• Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, or PL/SQL to streamline operational tasks.

• Storage Management: Manage database storage allocation, resizing, and performance thresholds.

• Collaboration: Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to resolve performance and availability issues.

• Root Cause Analysis: Perform incident analysis and implement long-term preventive measures for database stability.

  
  
  
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 34 years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases on Azure VMs.

• Strong proficiency in Oracle Database Administration, SQL, and PL/SQL.

• Experience with Elastic Job Agents or equivalent automation tools.

• Expertise in performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

• Solid understanding of Linux-based operations and scripting (Shell/Python/PLSQL).

• Strong knowledge of auditing, compliance, and security controls in cloud environments.

• Experience using cloud monitoring and observability tools.

Qualifications:

• This is a full-time on-site role based in Bengaluru.
