We are looking for a Senior OpenShift & Platform Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of containerized platform solutions for our customers and internal product workloads. The role demands strong hands-on expertise across Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and the broader Red Hat ecosystem, combined with the ability to architect solutions, troubleshoot complex production issues, and mentor junior engineers. This is a senior individual contributor role with a clear technical leadership path. You will work directly with customer architects, product teams, and Red Hat counterparts on enterprise-grade engagements.
Key Responsibilities • Design, deploy, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments across onpremise, hybrid, and cloud deployments. • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters for production workloads. • Lead implementation of associated Red Hat products including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD), OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton), Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) / Advanced Cluster Security (ACS). • Define and enforce platform standards: cluster sizing, networking (SDN/OVN), storage, ingress, RBAC, security policies, and disaster recovery. • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, container image management, and registry operations (Quay). • Drive observability across the platform stack — logging, monitoring, alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, EFK, Loki) — and integrate with enterprise tooling
Troubleshoot complex, cross-layer production issues spanning application, container, OS, network, and storage. • Conduct platform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning with minimal downtime. • Work with security and compliance teams to harden platforms in line with enterprise and regulatory requirements. • Author technical design documents, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-base articles. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal capability building. • Engage directly with customer stakeholders during pre-sales scoping, solution design, and postimplementation reviews. Must-Have Skills & Experience • 5+ years of hands-on experience in platform / DevOps / infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years on Red Hat OpenShift in production environments. • Strong expertise in Kubernetes core concepts: workloads, networking, storage, RBAC, operators, CRDs, and Helm. • Proven experience deploying and operating OpenShift 4.x clusters across at least two of: bare metal, VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud. • Solid command of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting. • Hands-on experience with at least three of the following: Ansible Automation Platform, OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD), OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton), Quay, ODF, ACM, ACS, Service Mesh (Istio). • Strong scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, or Go; deep experience with Ansible playbooks and roles. • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform / OpenTofu) and GitOps practices. • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, ingress, SDN. • Familiarity with security practices: container image scanning, vulnerability management, secrets management (Vault), pod security standards. • Strong written and verbal communication; able to interface with both engineering teams and customer leadership.
