Job Description: Senior Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant / Odoo Lead
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant / Odoo Lead to drive end-to-end Odoo ERP implementations, lead project teams, and manage client engagements across multiple industries.
The ideal candidate must have strong client-facing communication skills, the ability to handle senior stakeholders, and proven experience in understanding business requirements, conducting discussions, presenting solutions, and ensuring the successful delivery of Odoo ERP projects.
This role requires a balance of functional Odoo expertise, technical understanding, leadership capability, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will work closely with clients, business analysts, sales teams, developers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable and business-aligned Odoo solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement, Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a primary client-facing consultant for Odoo implementation discussions.
- Communicate clearly with clients to understand business processes, pain points, expectations, and project objectives.
- Conduct requirement-gathering sessions, discovery workshops, solution walkthroughs, and client demos.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical expectations for internal teams.
- Manage client expectations throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Handle client queries, concerns, escalations, and change requests professionally.
- Prepare and present solution approaches, workflows, implementation plans, and project updates to clients.
- Build strong client relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Coordinate with business analysts, sales teams, developers, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and delivery.
2. Pre-Sales Support & Solution Demonstration
- Participate in pre-sales meetings along with the Business Analyst and sales team.
- Support technical and functional discussions with prospective clients.
- Understand client use cases and recommend suitable Odoo ERP solutions.
- Assist in preparing Proof of Concepts, solution prototypes, and demos.
- Demonstrate Odoo capabilities across relevant modules.
- Explain proposed workflows, system architecture, integrations, and implementation approach in a client-friendly manner.
- Support proposal preparation by providing solution inputs, effort estimates, and technical feasibility analysis.
3. Solution Design & Odoo Implementation
- Design and implement Odoo ERP solutions across modules such as CRM, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, Accounting, HR, Projects, and other business modules.
- Analyze business requirements and convert them into functional and technical specifications.
- Lead end-to-end ERP implementation activities including configuration, customization, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Ensure solutions follow Odoo best practices and are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
- Handle data migration, third-party integrations, workflow automation, and system optimization where required.
- Work with clients and internal teams to validate implemented solutions against business requirements.
4. Team Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead and manage a team of Odoo developers, consultants, and technical resources.
- Allocate tasks, track progress, review deliverables, and ensure timely project execution.
- Provide technical and functional guidance to team members.
- Review solution design, customizations, code quality, and implementation approach.
- Manage multiple Odoo implementation projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, developers, QA teams, and clients to ensure successful delivery.
- Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies and communicate them proactively.
5. Technical Development & Odoo Customization
- Develop and customize Odoo modules using Python and the Odoo framework.
- Work with PostgreSQL databases for data management, reporting, and optimization.
- Implement workflows, automation, access rights, security rules, custom reports, and business logic within Odoo.
- Support integrations using APIs, external systems, and third-party services.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions during implementation and support phases.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Odoo ERP implementation across multiple modules.
- Strong techno-functional understanding of the Odoo ERP platform.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-handling skills.
- Proven experience in requirement gathering, stakeholder discussions, client demos, and solution presentations.
- Ability to manage client expectations and handle multiple client interactions simultaneously.
- Experience leading or managing Odoo developers and consultants.
- Strong understanding of business processes across modules such as CRM, Sales, Inventory, Manufacturing, Accounting, HR, and Projects.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Ability to convert business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Strong documentation skills, including BRDs, functional specifications, technical notes, process flows, and user guides.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Odoo integrations and third-party APIs.
- Experience with Odoo.sh, cloud deployments, or on-premise deployment environments.
- Knowledge of ERP implementation methodologies and business process optimization.
- Experience working with clients across industries such as manufacturing, distribution, retail, services, or property management.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, solution estimation, and proposal preparation.
- Familiarity with project management tools and Agile delivery practices.
