Role - Senior Network Engineer (LAN)

- Key Responsibilities
- Network Operations & Troubleshooting
- Lead advanced (L3) troubleshooting for complex LAN, WLAN, and security-related incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and high-severity network issues.
- Provide escalation support to L2 teams and mentor engineers on complex cases.
- Wired & Wireless LAN
- Design, configure, and optimize Cisco enterprise LAN environments (Catalyst switches).
- Manage and troubleshoot Cisco Wireless infrastructures (WLCs, Access Points).
- Support large-scale campus and site wireless deployments, including performance tuning and RF optimization.
- Network Automation & Visibility
- Operate and maintain Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) for:
- Network assurance and health monitoring
- Configuration management and compliance
- Software image and patch management
- Use DNAC insights to proactively identify and remediate network risks.
- Network Security & Access Control
- Configure and support Cisco ISE for:
- Network access control (802.1X, MAB)
- Policy enforcement and guest access
- Integration with wired and wireless networks
- Manage firewall platforms (Cisco Firepower / ASA or equivalent):
- Firewall policy and rule management
- NAT, ACLs, and high-availability configurations
- Security incident investigation and response
- Design & Change Management
- Support network design reviews and implementation for new sites or enhancements.
- Participate in change planning, risk assessment, and execution for network changes.
- Ensure configurations follow security standards and enterprise best practices.
- Transition & Knowledge Transfer Responsibilities
- Actively participate in network service transitions, including knowledge transfer (KT) from incumbents or customer teams.
- Review and validate as‑is network architecture, configurations, SOPs, and documentation during transition phases.
- Support stabilization activities post‑transition, ensuring smooth handover to steady‑state operations.
- Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities during transition and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, tool onboarding, and access enablement.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Engage with OEM TAC (Cisco) for advanced issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Technical Skills
- Cisco Switching: Catalyst series (9K or equivalent)
- Cisco Wireless: WLCs and, Access Points
- Cisco DNA Center (DNAC): Assurance, automation, compliance
- Cisco ISE: NAC, authentication, authorization, guest access
- Firewalls: Cisco Firepower / ASA (or equivalent enterprise firewalls)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, routing basics (OSPF/BGP fundamentals)
- Certifications (Preferred)
- CCNP Enterprise / CCNP Security
- Cisco ISE or Wireless specialization (good to have)
