Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in managing enterprise network and security environments, with primary expertise in FortiGate/Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routing and switching, and Aruba wireless infrastructure. The candidate should possess excellent troubleshooting skills, be capable of designing and documenting network architectures, and effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Firewall Administration & Security

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot FortiGate and pfsense firewalls.

• Create, modify, and maintain firewall policies based on business requirements.

• Configure and troubleshoot IPsec VPN tunnels between branch offices.

• Implement and manage traffic shaping and bandwidth management policies.

• Analyze firewall logs and security events to identify and resolve network issues.

• Perform firewall upgrades, backups, and configuration maintenance.

• Good understanding of SSL VPN configuration and troubleshooting (preferred).

Routing & Switching

• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches.

• Manage Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure.

• Configure and support: Static Routing, OSPF Routing Protocol, VLANs, Trunking, EtherChannel (LACP/PAgP) and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)

• Perform network performance analysis and troubleshooting.

Wireless Infrastructure

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Aruba wireless environments.

• Support Aruba Access Points, specifically Aruba AP-105 and Aruba AP-515 models.

• Diagnose and resolve wireless connectivity, authentication, roaming, and performance issues.

• Monitor wireless network health and optimize coverage and performance.

Monitoring & Operations

• Utilize SolarWinds for network monitoring, alert management, and performance analysis.

• Proactively identify and resolve network issues before they impact business operations.

• Generate network health and performance reports.

Ticketing & Documentation

• Manage incidents, service requests, and change requests using Jira.

• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.

• Create and update knowledge base articles and operational documentation.

Network Design & Architecture

• Design and document network architecture diagrams and topology layouts.

• Participate in network expansion, migration, and infrastructure improvement projects.

• Recommend best practices for network security, availability, and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate & pfsense Firewalls.

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting:

o Firewall Policies

o NAT Policies

o IPsec VPN

o Traffic Shaping

o Security Profiles

• Good understanding of SSL VPN (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching technologies.

• Experience with: Static Routing, OSPF, VLANs, Trunking, EtherChannel and STP

• Experience with Aruba Wireless infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience supporting Aruba AP-105 and AP-515 access points.

• Experience with SolarWinds monitoring tools.

• Familiarity with Jira ticketing system.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to interact with business users, vendors, and technical teams.

• Strong documentation and network diagram creation skills.
