Job Description: Senior / Network Engineer (F5 & Core Routing)
Role Overview
The F5 Network Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and advanced support of the F5 load-balancing and core routing infrastructure. This includes managing Local Traffic Manager (LTM) for Server Load Balancing (SLB) and BIG-IP DNS (formerly GTM) for Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB).
Operating in a
24/7/365 shift environment, the ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical banking applications. This role requires handling incidents, executing complex changes, and driving problem resolution within a strictly regulated environment adhering to security and compliance protocols.

Experience & Education RequirementsEducation
- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science (CS) / Information Technology (IT), OR
- BCA/MCA, OR
- Master's degree in CS/IT.
Experience
- L2 Role (Bhubaneswar): Minimum 5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in network and load balancing operations.
- L3 Role (Nagpur): Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with a strong background in engineering analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and architectural troubleshooting.
Mandatory Certifications
(Candidates must possess at least two active certifications from the following list)
- Core Security/Networking: CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CCNA, or CCNP (Routing & Switching).
- OEM Specific: F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) or F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE).
Technical Skill Set
- Load Balancing & Traffic Management: Strong hands-on experience with enterprise-grade F5 BIG-IP platforms, specifically LTM (Local Traffic Manager) and GTM/BIG-IP DNS (Global Traffic Manager).
- Core Networking & Routing: Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and Routing & Switching protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Network Security: Proficient in SSL/TLS configuration, offloading, and managing secure VPNs.
- Traffic Manipulation: Exposure to writing and troubleshooting F5 iRules is highly desirable.
Key ResponsibilitiesIncident & Problem Management
- Provide high-tier support for all incidents and service requests related to DMZ SLBs and perimeter GSLBs.
- Analyze complex, multi-layered incidents, identify root causes, and execute containment and remediation strategies.
- Act as a technical bridge between L1 support, application developers, project managers, and vendors.
Operations & Maintenance
- Perform routine health checks, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning of the load balancing infrastructure.
- Execute regular patching, software upgrades (TMOS updates), and hardware maintenance of F5 BIG-IP devices, often during designated maintenance windows (non-business hours).
- Ensure application traffic flows securely through the DMZ and across multiple geolocated data centers.
Change & Security Compliance
- Execute change requests for network and security modifications, including new virtual server configurations, pool member updates, and iRule adjustments following strict change management workflows.
- Implement and enforce network security policies specific to the banking sector, including PCI DSS compliance.
- Assist with regular security audits, provide evidence of compliance, and immediately address any vulnerability findings.
Advanced Engineering (L3 Specific)
- Provide engineering analysis and architectural design validation for upcoming technical solutions and expansions.
- Coordinate cross-departmentally with Security Operations Centers (SOC) and external stakeholders for deep-dive incident analysis and preventative action.
