GLC considers the arts, nature-based learning as core components of the curriculum and central to children's educational experience. In addition to the preschool, GLC also offers day-care and after-school classes/activities, such as a vibrant children's library, art and craft classes, STEM classes etc. for children 6+ years.

Teacher Responsibilities: at GLC

Establish rapport and building relationships with students based on warmth & trust.

Observe, guide, supervise, and supporting children while they explore and learn.

Develop lesson plans, independent learning exercises, curricula, and methods that cater to the needs of the individual child.

Create and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel at home.

Manage & maintain all units of study including Montessori materials, thematic units, library etc.

Set an excellent example for students and embody values like honesty, respect, kindness, curiosity.

Ensure classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.

Update records on the school database and handling various other administrative tasks.

Monitor and assess student progress and writing up reports.

Participate in school activities, facilitating field trips.

Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and the school community to provide general assistance.

The Senior Montessori Teacher is also expected to guide other staff members and play a key role in the everyday functioning of the Learning Centre.

Requirements and Skills for a GLC teacher

Bachelor's or Master's degree in education, preferably with concentration in early childhood education and/or a diploma in Montessori Education.

Experience in a Montessori environment of at least 2 years for Montessori Teacher and at least 8 years for Senior Montessori Teacher.

Good practical knowledge of Montessori materials and techniques.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Having the physical & emotional capacity to work with pre-school/Kindergarten aged children.

Experience in managing day-care, community-libraries, nature-education activities, tinkering- labs/makerspaces will be an advantage.
