Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Modeler role based in Mysore, India. The Senior Modeler will be responsible for developing and managing detailed 3D models for structural steel and BIM projects, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and preparing detailed shop and erection drawings. The role involves reviewing and validating models, identifying and resolving clashes, and implementing modeling best practices to support defect-free deliverables. The Senior Modeler will also guide junior modelers, participate in project reviews, and collaborate with global teams to meet quality, schedule, and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong 3D modeling expertise in structural steel detailing and BIM, with hands-on experience using industry-standard tools (e.g., Tekla Structures, Revit, or similar platforms).
- Proficiency in interpreting structural and architectural drawings, connection details, fabrication standards, and construction documents.
- Experience in preparing shop drawings, erection drawings, and fabrication deliverables with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, resolve clashes, and apply modeling best practices for constructability and error reduction.
- Solid understanding of civil/structural engineering concepts and codes relevant to steel structures and industrial/architectural projects.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding junior modelers and contributing to team-based project delivery.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills suitable for collaboration with global project stakeholders.
- Diploma or degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in structural modeling.
- Experience working on international projects (North America, Europe, or Asia) and familiarity with global detailing standards is an advantage.
