Job Title: Senior Middleware Ops Engineer-AVP

Role & Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:
- Middleware Platform Engineering: Architect, implement, manage, and lifecycle enterprise middleware platforms including Red Hat JBoss EAP, IBM MQ, OpenShift, and integration technologies.
- Architecture & Modernization: Define middleware reference architectures, standards, roadmaps, and support containerization, cloud adoption, platform modernization, and infrastructure transformation.
- SRE & Reliability: Drive SRE practices covering availability, resiliency, observability, SLIs/SLOs, monitoring, alerting, performance analytics, RCA, and self-healing.
- Middleware Operations: Manage Dev, UAT, DR, and Production environments, including deployments, upgrades, migrations, platform refreshes, capacity expansion, and operational governance.
- Performance & Capacity: Perform performance tuning, workload analysis, bottleneck identification, throughput/latency optimization, capacity forecasting, and scalability planning.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure middleware compliance with MUFG cybersecurity standards, technology controls, regulatory requirements, encryption, TLS/SSL, authentication, authorization, and secure communication practices.
- Automation & DevOps: Implement IaC, CI/CD, configuration management, and automation using Shell, Python, Ansible, and OpenShift automation to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.
- Incident & Service Management: Lead incident, problem, change, RCA, DR/failover testing, vulnerability remediation, and operational resilience activities in line with ITIL and organizational standards.
- Stakeholder & Project Leadership: Lead APAC middleware initiatives and collaborate with architecture, application, infrastructure, security, network, database, and business teams on design and transformation projects.
- Technical Leadership: Act as a middleware SME and escalation point, providing technical guidance, mentoring engineers, driving continuous improvement, and building team capability across the region
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in Middleware Engineering/Architecture with strong expertise in JBoss, WebSphere, and messaging technologies.
- WebSphere: Expert-level experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server, covering installation, configuration, administration, tuning, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Messaging: Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ/WMQ, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar enterprise messaging platforms.
- Architecture: Strong knowledge of enterprise middleware architecture, solution design, integration patterns, scalability, high availability, and resilience.
- Security: Expertise in middleware security, including SSL/TLS, encryption, authentication, authorization, certificates, and secure communication.
- Cloud & Containers: Experience swith AWS/Azure and Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift for middleware deployment and management is preferred.
- Automation & DevOps: Proficiency in Shell/Python scripting, CI/CD, DevOps practices, automated deployment, monitoring, and middleware automation.
- Infrastructure & Troubleshooting: Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows, networking, connectivity, performance tuning, and complex middleware issue resolution.
- Leadership: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, solution architecture, project management, and team leadership skills, with the ability to work in the Singapore Time Zone.
