Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator to serve as a technical lead for our Microsoft 365 environment. This role is hands-on and strategic, focused on architecture, security, optimization, and complex problem-solving rather than people management. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert who partners closely with IT leadership and other technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design, administration, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Azure AD
  • Lead architecture decisions, best practices, and platform standards for Microsoft 365
  • Design and implement advanced security and compliance solutions (Conditional Access, MFA, DLP, Information Protection, retention, eDiscovery)
  • Serve as escalation point for complex Microsoft 365 incidents and root cause analysis
  • Manage identity, authentication, and access in cloud and hybrid environments
  • Plan and execute tenant-wide changes, migrations, and feature rollouts
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and APIs
  • Monitor service health, capacity, and usage trends; proactively improve performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams on integrations and governance
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks
  • Advise on Microsoft roadmap changes and assess business impact
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration
  • Deep hands-on experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Strong expertise in Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), identity, and access management
  • Proven experience designing and enforcing Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong PowerShell scripting experience for automation and reporting
  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of technical outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, SC-300, SC-400, or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
  • Experience with hybrid AD and Exchange environments
  • Familiarity with Defender for Office 365, Defender for Cloud Apps
  • Experience supporting large or multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environments
