About Position
JWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microsoft Azure Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric, including migration from Synapse to Fabric. You will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and modernizing large-scale data pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics (Pipelines, SQL Pools, Spark Notebooks).
- Lead and execute Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric migration, including:
- OneLake
- Lakehouse / Fabric Data Warehouse
- Dataflows Gen2
- Fabric Pipelines
- Refactor and optimize SQL and Spark/PySpark workloads for Microsoft Fabric.
- Implement secure data access by integrating Azure Key Vault for secrets management.
- Develop and optimize Power BI semantic models and datasets for performance and scalability.
- Perform T-SQL performance tuning and Spark optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
- Participate in client discussions and provide technical guidance and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering / Big Data.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Proven hands-on project experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, Python, and PySpark.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and Spark performance tuning.
- Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including:
- Git
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Direct experience in Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric migration projects.
- Power BI performance optimization and enterprise semantic model design.
- Client-facing project experience.
