Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Associate in Cloud to join our Cloud Engineering team. Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIE) ensures the continuous availability of the technologies and systems that are the foundation of athenahealth's services. We are directly responsible for thousands of servers, petabytes of storage, and handling thousands of web requests per second, all while sustaining growth at a meteoric rate. We enable an operating system for the medical office that removes administrative complexity, leaving doctors free to practice medicine.

You are an engineer with a passion for working hands-on with the latest and greatest cloud technology. You want to use the newest tech, but you want to do so in a large environment so you can see how that technology is used when scale matters. The Team: We are a bunch of engineers who are passionate about reliability, automation, and scalability in a cloud-native environment. We use an agile-based framework to execute our work, ensuring we are always focused on the most important and impactful needs of the business. We support systems in both the private and public cloud and make data-driven decisions based on which one best suit the needs of the business. We are relentless in automating manual, repetitive work so we can focus on projects that help move the business forward.

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

  • 3 or more years of experience in building Azure Cloud solutions
  • 2 or more years of experience in building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform and other IaC tools.
  • 2 or more years of experience in building SDLC pipelines with ADO and Jenkins to deploy both applications and infrastructure to cloud environments
  • Experience in working in Agile/Scrum teams and following agile process
  • Experience with Active Directory, network troubleshooting, system administration (Windows/Linux)
  • Experience in programing languages such as: Python, Node.js, PowerShell scripts and shell scripts
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiar with open source tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Graylog, ELK Stack

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and deploy IaC code for Secure infrastructure automation in Azure Cloud
  • Produce accurate, unambiguous technical specifications to the appropriate detail.
  • Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality hardware, software components and services in adherence with IaaS policies on security, performance, longevity and integration.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot complex technical issues until resolution.
  • Understand and follow engineering conventions, architectures, and best practices implement new conventions where necessary, teaching those methodologies to more junior members of the team.
  • Perform peer code reviews to ensure quality standards.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for area of assignment.
  • Advise and mentor more junior team members to maximize overall productivity and effectiveness of the team.
  • Coordinate efforts within own team and immediate team members.
  • Cultivates strong business relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Explains solutions in a way that both technical and product audiences can grasp and shares insights with peers.
  • Share business and technical learnings with the broader dev and product organizations.
  • Collaborate with members of product and UX teams to design solutions, as appropriate.
