Description
We are seeking a Senior Medical Coder specializing in IPDRG to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong focus on inpatient coding and reimbursement processes. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring compliance with coding standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes based on the IPDRG (Inpatient Diagnosis Related Groups) system for hospital billing and reimbursement.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, as well as internal policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies.
- Conduct audits and quality checks to maintain coding accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in coding standards and regulations, including IPDRG updates.
Skills and Qualifications
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
- Knowledge of IPDRG coding principles and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in coding.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare professionals.
