The Role
As an
Senior Mechanical Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful timely project delivery.
- Inter-discipline co-ordination with Architect, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Construction, HSE & Process departments for understanding basic project requirements at each engineering stage, providing inputs to disciplines, integrate engineering solutions into operational practices.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices for rotating equipment and packages to enhance reliability and performance.
- Preparation and continuous improvement of technical documentation including specifications, reports, check lists, design calculations.
- Maintain Quality Assurance and achieve targeted quality policies by understanding and implementing organizational standard quality procedures.
- Conduct performance analysis, competency analysis by conducting technical spot check and quality reviews to drive continuous improvement initiatives and to achieve quality objectives.
- Develop Design Basis / Design Concept, Technical specification and cost estimate document after understanding functional, operational and project specific requirements for different packages.
- Review and prepare Equipment / Driver selection report, MDS, RFQ, Technical Bid Evaluation, Vendor print review.
- Co-ordination for resolution of technical issues within disciplines, Customer, PMC, Supplier, Site.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, quality and technical excellence within the team and department.
- Participate proactively in different design reviews during project cycle like Constructability, 3D Model, HAZOP & SIL reviews and implements of action points in design.
- Support and act proactively during machinery troubleshooting, installation, commissioning and root cause failure analysis during construction and commissioning.
- Support and attend inspection and testing activities at vendor's shops / site.
- Handle one or more Projects independently. Proven track record of managing engineering teams and projects successfully.
Success Criteria
- Timely delivery of projects with right quality, within budget and schedule.
- Work Hour Planning & Monitoring. Assigning work to Junior engineer, designer, Modeler and effectively supervise the team.
- Raising the change order maintaining change log register. Able to track & control project workhours with respect to deliverables issued.
- Coordinate within team and other departments and projects to minimize quality errors claims.
- Continuously improve methods and lessons learnt to optimize client value.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Relevant Experience : 15 to 20 years.
- Educational Qualification : B.E. Mechanical (from Recognized University).
- Experience in FEED, EPC / EPCM, PMC & Proposal jobs.
- Experience in handling complete engineering cycle of Rotating Equipment and Packages for petrochemical, chemical, pharma plants, power plants, Onshore, Industries.
- In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards like API, ANSI / ASME, major customer's / PMC & Licensor specifications and standards. Familiar with good engineering practices related to discipline work.
- Able to successfully lead, guide & manage the engineering team of engineers & designers/draftsmen in the selection and evaluation of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, agitators, fans, blowers etc. and Offsite / Utilities mechanical packages, Material handling packages.
- Should be able to work independently in highly automated atmosphere and be keen to adapt to new automation technology. Should be aware of Standard Industry Software and other available tools for enhancing work process within disciplines.
- Strong analytical skills, Ability to quickly assess and make recommendations (rapid problem solving) regarding technical issues.
