Senior Mechanical Designer (LCM) - IGT Systems

In this role, you have the opportunity to drive the lifecycle management of PhilipsImage Guided Therapy (IGT) Fixed X-ray Systems.

You will be responsible for maintaining, validating, and verifying complex mechanical components and subsystems, ensuring our advanced medical imaging solutions remain safe, reliable, and compliant with international standards throughout their lifecycle.

Your role:

  • As Senior Mechanical Designer (LCM), you will safeguard the quality, reliability, and patient safety of Philips medical imaging systems-supporting clinicians to deliver precise and effective patient care across the globe.

  • You will be part of the Engineering Department within the Lifecycle Management (LCM) Mechatronic Development Cluster, part of the IGT Fixed Systems R&D organization. This diverse and collaborative team works on both lifecycle management and new product introductions (PDLM). You will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines (electrical, electronics, mechatronics, compliance, validation, purchasing, and quality) as well as external suppliers and partners.

  • This position offers the chance to deepen your expertise in lifecycle management, regulated product development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. You'll strengthen your skills in mechanical design, analysis, testing, and verification while working on technologies that make a tangible impact on healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

You're the right fit if:

  • You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) with 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in mechanical development and/or measurement in a regulated industry.

  • You bring solid expertise in Lifecycle Management (LCM), problem-solving and root cause analysis, and are familiar with Design for Reliability (DfR) principles.

  • You are proficient in mechanical design (2D/3D, GD&T), with experience in testing, verification, and automationFEA simulation skills are a strong plus.

  • You are hands-on, accurate, proactive, and quality-driven, with strong communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Experience with SAFe is an advantage.

How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers or suppliers locations.

This role is an office-based role.
