Job Description

Stantec is looking for Revit MEP modeler and detailing designer with expertise in Revit MEP buildings applications to be based in the Pune, India office.

The Revit MEP Designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete mechanical designs for HVAC system across projects in Residential, Commercial, Highrise buildings and Health Care facilities.

The successful candidate will be keen and encouraged to develop design skills in their chosen MEP field to contribute to overall project designs. This will include becoming familiar with Standards relevant to the project location (e.g., Middle East, Australian, British and American Standards).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and management of detailed HVAC BIM models (ducting, piping, equipment, and plant rooms) in line with LOD 300–500 requirements
  • Interpret design intent and ensure accurate translation into coordinated and constructible BIM models
  • Take ownership of mechanical deliverables for assigned projects, ensuring quality and timely completion
  • Lead or manage multidisciplinary coordination using tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and ACC/BIM 360
  • Conduct and lead clash detection processes, resolution workflows, and coordination discussions
  • Interface with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and PHE teams to ensure integrated design delivery
  • Perform and oversee QA/QC checks on models, drawings, and BIM data
  • Review work of junior team members and provide technical guidance and feedback
  • Support HVAC design development including system layouts, routing strategies, and constructability inputs
  • Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), project standards, and ISO 19650 requirements
  • Generate coordinated drawings, shop drawings, schedules, and BOQs from BIM models
  • Support project planning, progress tracking, and milestone submissions
  • Contribute to BIM process improvements, including use of automation tools such as Dynamo

Competencies

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of: - HVAC systems (airside and hydronic systems)
  • Chilled water systems and plant room layouts
  • Ventilation and air distribution systems
  • Direct expansion (DX) systems
  • Experience in: - Duct and pipe routing and sizing
  • Equipment layout and coordination
  • Preparation of schematics and riser diagrams

BIM & Tools

  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD
  • Strong experience with Navisworks and ACC/BIM 360 for coordination
  • Working knowledge of Dynamo and BIM automation tools

Coordination & Leadership

  • Proven experience in leading BIM coordination for medium to large-scale projects
  • Ability to independently manage modeling and coordination workflows
  • Capability to mentor and guide junior team members
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards, workflows, and data management

Qualifications And Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in BIM-based HVAC design and modeling for building projects
  • Experience working on international projects (Middle East, UK, Australia, or North America preferred)
  • Familiarity with international standards and BIM frameworks (including ISO 19650)
