About the Role
Join our Engineering team as a Senior Mechanical Design & Value Engineering (VAVE/DVIP) Engineer to lead product cost optimization, drive value engineering initiatives, and support mechanical product development. You will work on product design improvements, value analysis, cost reduction projects, and design change management while collaborating with crossfunctional engineering teams. This role requires strong mechanical design fundamentals, CAD proficiency, and hands-on experience with VAVE/DVIP methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical product design, redesign, and valueengineering activities (VAVE/DVIP).
- Execute product cost reduction initiatives through design optimization and alternative solutions.
- Utilize SolidWorks or similar CAD tools for modeling, analysis, and design improvements.
- Conduct value analysis using VE tools FAST diagrams, rootcause/value mapping, teardown analysis, benchmarking, etc.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and global engineering teams.
- Prepare design documentation, engineering reports, and costbenefit justifications.
- Support design change management, risk analysis, and compliance documentation.
- Work with PLM systems such as Windchill or equivalent for change workflows and engineering records.
- Support regulatory or controlled environments (Medical Devices preferred).
Required Skills
- 810 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, and costreduction engineering.
- Strong background in Value Engineering (VAVE), DVIP, and product teardown/cost analysis.
- Handson experience executing product cost reduction projects endtoend.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Understanding of PLM systems (preferably Windchill).
- Ability to create and manage design documentation, engineering changes, and risk assessments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience in medical device design controls or regulated industries.
- Preferred: Value Engineering certification (INVEST, SAVE, or equivalent).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong handson experience in mechanical product design, value engineering, and design change management.
