Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can take complete ownership of product development—from concept to field deployment—and lead a small engineering team to build robust, production-ready machines.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of innovative farm machinery and automation systems.
- Own products from concept → design → prototype → field validation → production.
- Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 design engineers, ensuring timely execution and technical excellence.
- Collaborate closely with production, fabrication teams, vendors, and field-testing teams.
- Develop cost-effective, rugged, and manufacturable designs suitable for Indian operating conditions.
- Continuously improve existing products based on customer and field feedback.
- Support design validation, design reviews, documentation, and production ramp-up.
What Actually Matters
- 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Preferred experience in Automation Equipment and Material Handling Systems.
- Proven experience in developing physical products—not just CAD modeling.
- Experience leading and mentoring a 2–3 member engineering/design team.
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Mechanical Design
- Power Transmission Systems
- Fabrication & Manufacturing
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Ability to make sound engineering decisions with limited information and execute quickly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, resource-constrained environment.
Good to Have
- Experience in Agricultural Machinery or Food Processing Equipment.
- Exposure to machine development, transmission drive systems, sheet metal, plastics, and fabricated structures.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, vendor development, and supplier coordination.
- Experience with product validation, testing, and continuous design improvement.
