Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

The purpose of the position is to utilize knowledge to develop innovative, technically sound and cost-efficient packaging solutions for new motive battery charger electronics. The individual is an energetic professional who can work both individually and with a team.

Job Duties

• Design packages and enclosures ( Sheet metal ) for power electronic circuits. Support the product line from concept to production.
• Create manufacturing documentation ( Complete Pre-Quote and Final design packets including Fixture & Tooling designs, Component & Assembly drawings along with Bills of Material & product routings.)
• Analyze methods and suppliers for cost reductions on assemblies and equipment
• Document designs so they can be adequately manufactured within the time and budget targets
• Coordinate prototype build; re-asses manufacturing options
  
  

Required Skills And Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• 4 to 6 years of experience in a development team
• Experience packaging power electronic circuits and industrialization
• Experience using Solidworks package
• Good verbal and written communication skills
  
  

Desirable Skills

• Experience doing thermal/cooling calculations
• Working knowledge of electrical interconnect technologies including cable and harness, connectors, power distribution and signal interconnects
