Experience: 5-7 Years

Focus: Airframe Design, Structural Analysis, and Hardware Integration

Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on engineer who understands that a drone is not just a flying object, but a tightly integrated system of electronics, propulsion, and structure. You will own the mechanical lifecycle from concept (SolidWorks) to flight testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Airframe Design: Design and model complex UAV airframes (fixed-wing, multirotor, or hybrid VTOL) using SolidWorks. Focus on aerodynamics, CG optimization, and structural integrity.

Systems Integration: Design mounting solutions for avionics, batteries, and payloads. You must account for vibration isolation, dampening, thermal management (cooling flow) and environmental sealing (IP-rated for dust/moisture etc).

Simulation & Analysis: Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for structural loads and basic CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to validate drag/lift coefficients before prototyping.

DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Create designs that are ready for production, including mold design for composites and CNC machining tolerances.

Documentation: Generate detailed technical drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials) for the manufacturing team.

Must-Have Skills:

Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (Surfacing module expertise is a plus).

Deep understanding of material selection (aerospace grade materials, 3D printed polymers etc).

Bonus Skills (The Differentiators):

Basic understanding of avionics/electronics systems for EMI/EMC shielding.

Experience designing mechanisms (retractable landing gear, servo linkages, payload release systems, aerodynamic ducts, locking mechanisms etc).
