Role Overview

The Marketing - Business Operations & Growth Lead serves as a strategic partner and force multiplier to the Vice President of Marketing, supporting both long-term business strategy and day-to-day operations. This role plays a critical part in driving growth and transformation across the marketing portfolio.

Blending general management, portfolio transformation, marketing operations, and program leadership, you will ensure that marketing priorities are aligned, scalable, and deliver meaningful business impact. You will act as a key connector across Marketing, Product, Technology, Finance, and Operations to drive outcomes in complex, cross-functional environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Strategy, Thought Leadership & Portfolio Direction

  • Act as a strategic partner to the VP of Marketing, ensuring priorities and decisions are clearly defined and executed with rigor
  • Contribute to business strategy development, guiding portfolio direction and key trade-offs
  • Serve as a thought leader, bringing innovative approaches to emerging trends and solutions
  • Anticipate customer needs and drive cross-functional innovation
  • Translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences

2. Operating Rhythm, Governance & Executive Enablement

  • Establish and manage operating rhythms, governance frameworks, and leadership cadences
  • Develop executive-level communications, presentations, and analyses
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and decision points
  • Drive clarity, accountability, and timely decision-making across leadership forums

3. General Management & Business Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end operation of the marketing portfolio, translating strategy into execution
  • Own and optimize key business processes (e.g., planning, prioritization, execution frameworks)
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, workforce planning, and investment prioritization
  • Monitor portfolio performance and drive corrective actions as needed

4. Portfolio Management, Transformation & Program Delivery

  • Lead portfolio planning, prioritization, and sequencing aligned with business goals
  • Drive large-scale transformation initiatives, including:
  • Operating model evolution
  • Process standardization and scalability
  • Capability building and performance improvement
  • Ensure programs are well-scoped, resourced, and outcome-driven
  • Solve complex, cross-domain problems spanning technical, operational, and organizational areas

5. Marketing Operations Enablement & Scalable Execution

  • Partner with Marketing Operations, MarTech, and Analytics teams to embed efficient processes
  • Standardize planning, execution, and reporting across teams and regions
  • Drive adoption of tools, data, and governance models to improve effectiveness
  • Create playbooks, frameworks, and enablement materials to enhance execution consistency

6. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Influence

  • Serve as a trusted liaison across Marketing, Product, Technology, Finance, and Operations
  • Clarify roles, decision rights, and ownership across initiatives
  • Influence senior leaders through data-driven insights and strong business cases
  • Identify and remove organizational barriers to execution

7. Leadership Scope & Accountability

  • Provide leadership through influence, governance, and coaching across teams
  • Impact product, service, and process decisions at a functional or segment level
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and evolving business requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 14+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, consulting, portfolio management, transformation, or Chief of Staff roles
  • Experience supporting senior leaders (VP-level or above) in high-impact environments
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
  • Proven track record in leading large, cross-functional initiatives and driving change
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience solving complex business and organizational challenges
