Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager MEP Design to lead our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of MEP design for a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and efficient project delivery. This role requires a strong leader with deep technical expertise, exceptional project management skills, and a proven track record in managing and mentoring design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of MEP engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Oversee the complete MEP design process from conceptualization through detailed design, ensuring adherence to project specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Develop and implement MEP design strategies, standards, and best practices across all projects.
- Ensure all MEP designs comply with relevant local, national, and international building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IBC).
- Review and approve MEP drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports prepared by the design team.
- Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Provide expert technical guidance and solutions for complex MEP challenges during design and construction phases.
- Manage project budgets and resource allocation for the MEP design department.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development, representing the MEP design capabilities of the company.
- Implement value engineering principles to optimize MEP system performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and innovations in MEP systems and design tools.
- Conduct quality control reviews and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all MEP design deliverables.
