Role Purpose
The Data Protection Project Manager (Consent Management) is responsible for planning, technical solutioning and managing projects that implement and optimize consent management solutions across the organization. This role ensures that customer data is collected, stored, and used in compliance with Data privacy regulations (DPDPA) while enabling the business to responsibly leverage data for innovation and growth.
Role Accountability
The Project Manager will:
- Lead the deployment and enhancement of Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) across digital channels.
- Translate regulatory requirements into actionable project deliverables.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, IT, product, and marketing teams to embed consent workflows into business processes.
- Provide governance, reporting, and risk management for consent-related initiatives.
- Drive customer trust and transparency by ensuring ethical and user-friendly consent practices.
- Consent Management Platform (CMP) Ownership
- Accountable for project implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the CMP.
- Ensures CMP integrates seamlessly with websites, mobile apps, CRM, and analytics platforms.
- Ensures that consent preferences are captured, stored, and honored across all systems.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Accountable for providing technical solution for observations of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Maintains audit readiness and provides evidence of compliance to regulators and internal auditors.
- Risk Management & Governance
- Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks related to consent and data protection.
- Establishes governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for consent management.
- Reports compliance risks and remediation progress to senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Acts as the primary liaison between legal, compliance, IT, product, and marketing teams.
- Accountable for clear communication of consent management policies and updates.
- Ensures stakeholder alignment and buy-in for consent-related initiatives.
- Program Delivery & Reporting
- Accountable for timely delivery of consent management projects within scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Develops and maintains KPIs, dashboards, and compliance reports for leadership visibility.
- Tracks performance of consent workflows and drives continuous improvement.
Training & Awareness
- Ensures organization-wide training and awareness programs on consent and data protection.
- Accountable for embedding a privacy-first culture across teams and business units.
- Accountable for building and maintaining customer trust through responsible data practices.

Technical Skills / Experience / Certifications
- Technical Skills
- Consent Management Platforms (CMP): Hands-on expertise with OneTrust, TrustArc, Evidon, Securiti.ai, or equivalent CMP solutions.
- Knowledge of Privacy & Data Protection Frameworks
- Data Governance Tools: Familiarity with Collibra, Informatica, BigID, or similar metadata/data lineage tools.
- Integration & APIs: Experience integrating CMPs with websites, mobile apps, CRM, marketing automation, and analytics platforms.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Ability to design dashboards, KPIs, and compliance reports for leadership visibility.
- Project Management Tools:
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent.Certifications (Good to Have)
- Program/Project Management Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or Prince2 Practitioner
- Agile/Scrum Master Certification (preferred for tech-driven environments)
- Technical Acumen
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, encryption, identity management, and API integrations.
- Ability to evaluate and implement privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
- Ensures seamless integration of CMPs with CRM, analytics, and marketing platforms.

- B.E, Btech, MBA (Systems), MCA Computer Science
