Job Description

This role is for one of our clients

We are hiring a Senior Manager – Supply Chain Operations to lead that next chapter. This role bundles network operations, procurement operations, planning, and the SC control tower into a single owner — accountable for availability, service, cost, and scale-up across the network. You'll inherit a working network and a strong team, and take both through their highest-growth phase yet.

What You'll Own

•    The network, today and tomorrow. End-to-end on-ground operations across DC and hubs — inbound, inventory management, picking, packing, dispatch, last mile, returns, damage and expiry. Today's footprint of 1 DC + 2 hubs grows to 2 DCs + 4–5 hubs within this role's horizon.

•    Network scale-up and transformation. Lead the build of the second DC and the transformation of transit hubs into mini-DCs. Site selection, fit-out, go-live, stabilization — yours to drive end-to-end.

•    Planning and the SC control tower. Network capacity, S&OP, peak readiness, KPI visibility, demand–supply matching. The layer that keeps the scale-up honest and availability on track.

•    Procurement operations. Lead procurement ops as it moves under supply chain — vendor coordination, PO management, inbound planning with suppliers, vendor performance, and the availability and fill-rate KPIs that go with it.

•    Team and talent. Build the leadership bench that will run the network at 2x scale — DC Manager, Hub Incharges, Purchase Managers today, with Hub Network Manager and Transport & Last Mile Manager joining as the network expands.

•    Cost, productivity, and compliance. SC cost per order, manpower productivity, fleet utilization, space utilization; FSSAI, fire safety, and labor compliance across every site.

•    Cross-functional partnership. Category, Store Operations, Finance, HR, and Tech / WMS — you'll be the SC voice across the leadership table, with the procurement-ops bridge to Category becoming a critical interface.

Key KPIs

•    SKU availability at stores; vendor fill rate and on-time-in-full (OTIF) from suppliers.

•    Order fill rate; on-time dispatch to stores.

•    Inventory accuracy; shrinkage.

•    SC operations cost per order (network-level); last-mile cost per order.

•    Last-mile SLA adherence; manpower productivity; fleet utilization.

•    Network capacity utilization; forecast accuracy vs. available capacity.

•    New site go-live timelines and time-to-stabilize.

•    Hub-to-mini-DC transformation milestones; site audit and safety scores.

What We're Looking For

•    8–14 years of supply chain operations experience, including 3+ years running a DC end-to-end and exposure to multi-site operations (DC + hubs, or multiple DCs).

•    Procurement operations or vendor-management experience — has owned availability / fill-rate KPIs or run a PO-management, vendor-performance, or inbound-planning function alongside ops.

•    Strong people leader: has led 50–150+ blue-collar workforce and 5–10 layered managers; builds bench, doesn't just manage tasks.

•    Comfort across operations and planning — has owned S&OP, capacity planning, or a control-tower function alongside execution.

•    FMCG / retail / grocery / e-commerce / quick commerce supply chain experience, with strong WMS, OMS, and dispatch-tech fluency.

•    Strong commercial sense — defends cost, availability, and capex trade-offs with finance and leadership; comfortable in vendor and 3PL negotiations.

•    Operating discipline — establishes the reviews and rhythms that move metrics, without ceremony; bias for action on imperfect information.

•    Bias for the dock — as comfortable on the dispatch floor as in the boardroom; invests time at the sites, not just over the dashboard.

Nice to Have

•    Network design and modeling exposure; hub-and-spoke and mini-DC (forward-stocking-location) experience.

•    Lean / Six Sigma; SOP and audit framework design from scratch.

•    Tier-2 / tier-3 India operations experience; working knowledge of Telugu or Kannada.

Why This Role

•    Build the SC operations function from a single-DC operation into a multi-DC, multi-hub network — with procurement operations consolidated under one roof for the first time.

•    End-to-end ownership: operations + procurement ops + planning + control tower under one role. Single throat for availability, service, and cost.

•    High autonomy and a direct line to the Head of Supply Chain; decisions you make this year will shape the network for the next five.

•    A leadership seat in one of the fastest-growing retail stories in South India.
