Role Summary
The Senior Manager – Supply Chain will lead end-to-end supply chain operations, managing a team of 8–10 professionals. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence across procurement, cross-border logistics, compliance, and reconciliation, while ensuring cost efficiency, process standardization, and uninterrupted factory operations.
The role will also play a critical part in transitioning and scaling supply chain operations in enabling the deployment of standardized solutions across forecasting, planning, distribution, and logistics cost management. A strong focus on governance, performance visibility, and continuous improvement is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance, Compliance & Reconciliation
- Ensure end-to-end governance of customs documentation and regulatory compliance
- Drive SAP transaction integrity through validation and reconciliation with shipment records
- Oversee deferment processes and intercompany reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain audit readiness through robust documentation, controls, and escalation mechanisms
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Lead procurement operations including purchase order execution, material planning, and vendor coordination
- Drive vendor performance management across delivery, quality, and service levels
- Ensure procurement data integrity, compliance, and reporting accuracy
- Align procurement plans with demand forecasts and production requirements
- Cross-Border Supply Chain Management
- Oversee import-export operations, including shipment planning, documentation, and customs compliance
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure seamless demand fulfilment through inventory alignment and risk mitigation strategies
- Monitor and improve delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and service performance
- Logistics & Cost Optimization
- Own logistics cost governance across freight, warehousing, and distribution networks
- Track performance against budgets and drive cost optimization initiatives
- Manage and evaluate logistics partners including 3PLs, transporters, and clearing agents
- Raw Material Planning & Procurement
- Oversee raw material sourcing through RFQ/RFP processes supporting factory operations
- Ensure continuity of supply aligned with production plans
- Drive disciplined procurement through Source-to-Pay (S2P) platforms
- Transition, Transformation & Capability Building
- Lead transition of supply chain activities into the operating model
- Manage knowledge transfer and stabilization during transition phases
- Drive deployment of supply chain solutions across planning, forecasting, and logistics
- Develop dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance visibility tools
- Continuously evolve operating models, team structure, and processes to meet business needs
Experience & Qualifications
- 12–15 years of experience in supply chain management within a multinational environment
- Proven experience managing multi-functional teams (5+ members)
- Strong exposure to cross-border logistics, customs compliance, and global supply chains
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements through structured governance
- Experience in transition, centralization, or shared services models preferred
- Exposure to multi-country or emerging markets (Africa experience is a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP certification is advantageous
