Job Description

The Senior Manager Solutions Engineering role provides managerial oversight and tactical direction to the India region Solution Engineering team. This role is responsible for developing and delivering innovative and effective solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth.

This is a technical and managerial role focused on closing neocloud, enterprise, and retail business through data center and wholesale product knowledge, presentations, solution design, quoting, and leading tours of the NTT GDC facilities. While primarily focused on neocloud and enterprise customers, occasional support for hyperscale deals will be required.

The role ensures the highest standards of technical excellence and customer satisfaction, contributing to overall organizational success. It requires a tactical and technically oriented individual with deep expertise in data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, liquid cooling, telecom/fiber, and security (MEP/T) technologies, along with strong understanding of enterprise customer requirements.

The candidate should be capable of managing a diverse team of engineers and collaborating effectively across departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Director of Solution Engineering at a global level and execute tactical requirements for the India team in alignment with company goals
  • Lead and manage a team of solution engineers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of complex MEP/T solutions, ensuring high standards of quality and performance
  • Drive innovation and stay updated with industry trends and technologies
  • Work with the Product team on facility space planning and management
  • Demonstrate expertise in data center design concepts such as liquid cooling, fault-tolerant power systems, and security redundancy
  • Review lease terms and align them with customer technical requirements
  • Ensure strong communication and coordination across departments
  • Collaborate with sales, product management, bid management, design, construction, operations, and customer support teams for successful solution delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of modern data center environments, especially wholesale customer requirements.
  • Ability to analyze MEP/T concepts and single-line diagrams and align them with customer needs.
  • Capability to engage customers and identify technical and business drivers.
  • Experience working with third-party contractors and vendors for large infrastructure deployments.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to engage large audiences.
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, CFD modeling, Visio, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and multi-site environments.
  • Strong ability to manage stress in fast-paced environments.
  • Expertise in developing Bills of Materials (BOM) and Scope of Work (SOW).
  • Knowledge of competitive solutions and positioning strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation capability.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Atleast 10 years of experience in a similar role, with strong exposure to data center design and installation across mechanical, electrical, telecom, security systems, and liquid cooling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • Experience managing a sales engineering or solution engineering team.
  • Strong background in technical pre-sales with MEP/T engineering experience.
  • Proven experience influencing stakeholders and supporting sales efforts.
  • Experience in sales operations or effectiveness roles.
  • Strong strategic planning and operational execution capabilities.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management.
