What You'll Do

Lead engineering teams building near-real-time data replication capabilities that provide disaster recovery protection for large enterprise customers with demanding near-zero Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements.

In this role, you will own the engineering strategy, execution, and people leadership for mission-critical replication and high-availability features that protect enterprise data platforms from outages, site failures, and operational disruptions. You will lead geographically distributed teams responsible for designing and delivering scalable, robust, and high-performance enterprise software in C/C++.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader with a strong technical background, sound architectural judgment, and proven experience delivering complex product capabilities for enterprise customers.

This role reports to a Director of Engineering responsible for data security and data protection capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and scale an engineering team building near-real-time data replication and disaster recovery capabilities for large enterprise customers.
• Drive the architecture, execution, and quality of highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant replication features designed to support near-zero RPO and RTO objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for complex C/C++ product development involving distributed systems, persistence, data movement, consistency, failover, and recovery workflows.
• Partner with product management, architecture, database, QA, support, and cloud teams to define roadmap priorities and deliver customer-ready capabilities.
• Build, mentor, and grow engineers while establishing clear ownership, accountability, and high standards for design quality, code quality, testing, and operational readiness.
• Manage execution across geographically distributed teams, ensuring effective planning, communication, dependency management, and predictable delivery.
• Champion engineering practices that improve reliability, performance, diagnosability, automation, and long-term maintainability of mission-critical enterprise software.
• Engage with customer-facing teams to understand enterprise disaster recovery requirements, production issues, and opportunities to improve product resilience.
  
  

Who You'll Work With

You will partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, Database Engineering, Cloud Services, Quality Engineering, Customer Support, and field teams to deliver resilient replication and disaster recovery capabilities that meet the availability expectations of large enterprise customers.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in a product development organization, with 2–3 years of experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Under Graduate or post graduate from the premier tier-1 universities/institutes (IIT, NIT, BITS, IIIT) in India.
• Strong technical background with proven experience building large enterprise software that is scalable, robust, reliable, and maintainable.
• Hands-on or deep technical experience with C/C++ product development in complex systems environments.
• Experience leading teams through architecture, design, implementation, testing, and release of mission-critical enterprise software capabilities.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts such as data replication, consistency, availability, failover, recovery, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with database internals development is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead execution across teams, manage technical dependencies, and deliver high-quality software in a product-focused environment.
