The Role
We are looking for someone to own Fibre2Fashion's social media end-to-end — not as a publishing calendar, but as a growth engine.
Today our editorial team produces a large volume of genuinely valuable content: news, market reports, price movements, policy and trade analysis, executive interviews, event coverage. Your job is to sit between the editorial team and the audience and answer three questions every week, on every platform: what deserves to be pushed, how it should be shaped, and what deserves promotion behind it.
This is a hands-on role with strategic ownership. You will set the strategy and you will also write the hook, brief the editor, and check the retention graph. You will have design and video support, and a budget for paid amplification, but you are the owner.
What You Will Own
1. Editorial-led content strategy
• Work directly with the editorial team to identify which stories, data points and reports have social potential — and shape them at the point of creation, not after publication.
• Build a content architecture across formats: explainers, data storytelling, executive interviews, market commentary, event coverage, product-led content around TexPro, Prime B2B and Media Solutions.
• Establish a repurposing pipeline so one strong piece of journalism becomes a video (Shorts/reels), a carousel, a thread and a newsletter item — without diluting it.
• Develop and maintain a distinct editorial voice for Fibre2Fashion on social: authoritative on the industry, but readable, opinionated and human.
2. Platform strategy and curation
Each platform has a different job. You will define and defend that logic:
• YouTube — Build a real channel: long-form explainers and data stories, Shorts as the discovery layer, disciplined attention to titles, thumbnails, packaging, retention and session time. Growth here is measured in subscribers and watch time, not uploads.
• LinkedIn — the B2B engine. Thought leadership, market intelligence, employee and executive advocacy, and the primary channel for driving qualified interest in our products.
• Instagram — the culture and craft layer. Industry visual storytelling, UGC, events, sustainability and fashion trends that broaden reach beyond the trade audience.
• X — real-time market commentary. Price moves, policy and tariff developments, trade news, live event coverage — speed and point of view.
3. Audience growth
• Own the growth numbers: YouTube subscribers and views, LinkedIn followers and engaged reach, Instagram followers and saves/shares, X followers and impressions.
• Set quarterly growth targets by platform, with a stated hypothesis for how each will be achieved — and revise them honestly when the hypothesis fails.
• Run a continuous testing cadence: formats, hooks, thumbnails, posting patterns, series concepts. Kill what does not work quickly.
• Build creator, influencer and industry-voice collaborations where they accelerate reach into new audience pockets.
4. Amplification and measurement
• Decide what gets paid support: LinkedIn campaigns for product interest and content subscription, YouTube promotion for content reach, and boosting of organic winners.
• Report on a single dashboard that connects audience growth to business outcomes — traffic quality, newsletter signups, product enquiries — not vanity metrics alone.
• Manage the social budget and any agency, freelance or creator spend against it.
What Success Looks Like
• First 30 days — a clear-eyed audit of all four channels, a view on what our audience actually is versus what we assume, and a prioritised diagnosis of what is broken.
• First 90 days — a platform-by-platform strategy with named content pillars and formats, a functioning editorial-to-social workflow, and at least two repeatable series in production.
• First 6 months — measurable, defensible growth on all four platforms against targets agreed in month one, with a demonstrated link between social reach and qualified business interest.
Who We Are Looking For
The combination we want is rare but real: someone with genuine B2B content depth who also has consumer-media instincts — who understands long sales cycles and decision-maker audiences, but also knows what actually gets watched and shared.
Essential
• 5–9 years in social media, content strategy, digital marketing or digital publishing, with clear ownership of growth outcomes — not just calendar execution.
• Demonstrable results growing at least one channel from a modest base to meaningful scale. We will ask for the numbers and the story behind them.
• Real working knowledge of YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and X as a platform — packaging, retention, Shorts strategy and channel architecture. This is where we are weakest and where we most need expertise.
• Strong writing. You should be able to write a hook, a script outline and a LinkedIn post that people finish reading.
• Comfort with data: platform analytics, GA4, UTM discipline, and the ability to distinguish a real signal from noise.
• Experience working alongside an editorial or newsroom team, or a strong argument for why you would thrive next to one.
• Digitally native and genuinely present on these platforms — you should have opinions about what is working on them this month.
Strongly preferred
• Exposure to both a B2B/enterprise environment and a consumer brand, agency, media house or creator-economy setting.
• Hands-on use of AI tools in the content workflow — research, scripting, editing, thumbnail iteration, repurposing. We are an AI-forward company and expect this role to be one of the most AI-leveraged in the organisation.
• Familiarity with textile, apparel, fashion, manufacturing, supply chain or commodity/trade media. Not required, but you must be willing to learn the industry properly.
• Basic video and design fluency — enough to brief precisely, and to cut a Short yourself when speed matters.
This is probably not the right role if
• You have only managed social for a consumer brand and have not worked with a technical or specialist subject.
• Your instinct is to ask for a content calendar template rather than to ask what the audience wants.
• You want to manage a large team from day one. You will have support, but you will be building this yourself first.
• Works with: Editorial, Design/Video, Product Marketing, Sales.
