Role Title: Sr. Manager, Security Architecture

Position Summary:

Marriott has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Architecture Manager focused on Security Data Lakes (SDL) environments and AI/ML Security Technologies. This role will lead the team focused on developing and managing a comprehensive SDL strategy to enhance Marriott's cybersecurity capabilities and comply with regulatory requirements. Appropriate candidates have a passion for data, business intelligence (BI), SDL, AI/ML, emerging technologies, a vision for building next-generation capabilities, and a strong drive for success.

In this role, you will function as a technical expert and lead architect for data lakes. for the Data Platform team, especially in the SDL area. You will perform research, analysis, design, and development on a wide range of next-generation data capabilities and products. You will work in the SDL area to set technical standards, design the semantic data modeling layer, and define metrics. You will also work to define data modeling standards to ensure consistent and efficient data models across all data products.

You will assume technical and support ownership of Service Provider deliverables and lead their technical resources to ensure deliverables are of high quality, follow our technical standards & best practices, and perform at scale.

In addition, you will research emerging technologies that will provide future capabilities as well as seek solutions for complex technical issues. You will make decisions on complex, non-routine requests to support analytics-based decision-making by Marriott business teams.

Skill and Experience:

8-10 years progressive architecture and engineering experience in a combination of all or some of the following:

• Security SDL
• Machine Learning
• AI
• SIEM Technologies
• Experience in security technologies such as Splunk, Cribl, and AWS
• Strong ability to perform POCs and ability to give demos to the leadership
• Strong technical leader with proven ability to lead Service Provider technical resources
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications.

Experience in the area of:

• Data management
• Data analytics
• Data science / data analytics in a regulated global enterprise environment
• Information protection / information security.
• 2+ years of experience in direct management or supervision/team leadership of technical teams

3+ years in a role that had responsibility for or collaborated with/participated in one of the following:

• data pipeline management
• security architecture
• cybersecurity incident response
• compliance
• investigative processes

Preferred:

• Strong technical leader with proven ability to lead Service Provider technical resources
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in agile software methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate future data platform opportunities
• Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment
• AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification
• Experience authoring IT standards, frameworks and patterns related to the management of security data.
• Current information security certifications - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other.
• Good understanding and experience working with frameworks and regulations - NIST, ISO27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, with the ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets
• Proven ability to effectively prioritize and undertake mission critical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Adept at conducting research into process and governance best practices, models, and methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with security standards and regulatory requirements related to AI and data protection.
• Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, GPT models).
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk management frameworks including FAIR, NIST RMF, MITRE TARA, and OCTAVE.
• Demonstratable working knowledge of SAFe practices, principles, and roles.
• Experience with JIRA and ServiceNow.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer / data sciences, information management or related technology or security field or equivalent experience / certification
