Job Responsibilities / Deliverables
- Production Management: Oversee end-to-end production processes, ensuring efficient, safe, and timely manufacturing of pharmaceutical products to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Operational Efficiency: Implement technology-driven solutions and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes, reduce downtime, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement using tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain product quality, ensuring adherence to specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and GMP standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., CDSCO, USFDA, WHO-GMP, Schedule M) through robust process controls, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Champion GMP compliance across all production activities, including equipment validation, process validation, and cleanroom operations, to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of junior managers, supervisors, and operators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect for individuals.
- Coaching and Development: Provide hands-on coaching to junior managers and supervisors, enhancing their technical and leadership skills, and guide operators in operational excellence and adherence to SOPs.
- Motivational Leadership: Act as a key leader to inspire and motivate the production team, driving engagement through clear communication, recognition programs, and team-building initiatives aligned with the company's vision of innovation and excellence.
- Capacity Planning: Develop and execute production schedules, ensuring optimal resource utilization, inventory management, and alignment with demand forecasts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Control, Supply Chain, Engineering, and EHS teams to ensure seamless operations and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and present production performance reports, including KPIs (e.g., yield, cycle time, defect rates), to the Operations Head during Management Review Meetings (MRM).
- Budget Management: Oversee production budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Change Management: Lead the implementation of new technologies, processes, or products, managing change effectively to minimize disruptions and ensure team alignment.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, including equipment failures, supply chain disruptions, or non-compliance issues, to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with internal stakeholders (e.g., R&D, regulatory affairs) and external partners (e.g., auditors, suppliers) to support production goals and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Master's degree (e.g., MBA, M. Pharm) or advanced certification in production management is preferred.

- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including formulation, granulation, tableting, coating, and packaging.
- Expertise in GMP, regulatory compliance (CDSCO, USFDA, WHO-GMP), and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in production planning, lean manufacturing, and process optimization methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Familiarity with technology-driven production tools, such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Experience in managing cleanroom operations and equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate diverse teams, including junior managers, supervisors, and operators.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and drive a positive work culture.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex production challenges.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Lean,Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, or certifications in GMP or production management.
