Job Description

A Senior Manager for Risks, Audit & Compliance in Treasury Operations isresponsible for ensuring the treasury function is compliant, efficient, and risk-free through a combination of audit, risk management, and operational oversight. Key duties include developing and executing audit plans, evaluating internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulations like RBI and SOX, and managing risks such as liquidity and interest rate risk. This role also involves process improvement, risk assessment, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Core responsibilities

  • Audit and compliance:
  • Conduct internal audits of treasury activities, products, and systems.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., RBI, Basel, SOX).
  • Monitor and assess compliance with bank covenants and other regulations.
  • Risk management:
  • Identify and mitigate treasury-related risks, including liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange (FX) risks.
  • Monitor market variables and their financial impact on the company.
  • Formulate treasury policies and risk management strategies.
  • Operational oversight:
  • Oversee daily treasury operations, including payments and cash forecasting.
  • Ensure seamless payment operations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support and manage treasury operations systems and automation initiatives.
  • Process improvement:
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on operational issues and propose corrective actions.
  • Reporting and stakeholder management:
  • Report on audit findings and risk assessments to senior management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare treasury decks and other necessary reports.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications like CPA or CMA are often preferred.
  • Experience:Significant experience in treasury and/or internal audit, with a focus on treasury operations and risk.
  • Technical skills:
  • Proficiency in financial and accounting practices and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in treasury management systems (e.g., Kyriba) and tools, and strong skills in MS Excel.
  • Leadership and soft skills:
  • Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to influence others.
