General Summary

Under limited supervision, provides lead role for the Administration team, works with the clients to address data needs per the treaty parameters, interprets the client data to conform to the RGA data requirements, and tests the processes to map and load the client data into the administration tool. Should be an expert on the data required for managing the product, the data available for management reporting, and the tools used to load and / or extract the data for downstream users. Provides guidance and reporting, both standardized and ad-hoc, to management and downstream users. In addition to ensure all assigned monthly reporting tasks to internal stakeholders are accurate and completed on time, ensure process compliance as per SOX, and complete ad hoc tasks as required.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Reinsurance Administration team, owning end‑to‑end reinsurance data administration and delivery across all treaties and retrocession arrangements.
  • Own data quality, controls, and regulatory compliance, ensuring robust governance, SOX adherence, documented procedures, and risk mitigation across data processes.
  • Balance hands‑on execution with functional oversight, actively managing complex data issues while providing strategic direction to the team.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives by identifying efficiency gaps, implementing best practices, and enhancing scalability of administration processes.
  • Ensure timely receipt, validation, reconciliation, and processing of client data, including accurate premium calculations and payments in line with treaty terms.
  • Design and maintain standardized data mapping and validation frameworks, ensuring consistency in data capture, loading, and reporting across clients and systems.
  • Act as a key client‑facing lead for data and treaty‑related discussions, proactively resolving data issues and strengthening client confidence.
  • Provide critical data inputs and business analytics support to Finance, Valuation, Pricing, Underwriting, and Operations teams for reporting, experience studies, and decision‑making.
  • Oversee dashboards, MIS, and management reporting, ensuring availability of accurate, timely insights to support pricing, valuation, and business performance monitoring.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team, strengthening technical capability, domain expertise, and engagement through continuous coaching.
  • Act as deputy/backup to senior data leadership, contributing to data strategy, goal setting, and enterprise initiatives, and serving as a strong stepping stone to a Chief Manager / Associate Director role.

Education And Experience

Required

  • University degree in mathematics, statistics, information technology, or other related disciplines.
  • Experience in handling data related IT projects and coordination with other functions is essential

Preferred

  • LOMA/III Certification
  • 12+ years of work experience in Life Insurance/Reinsurance, of which 4 years in a supervisory role.

Skills And Abilities

  • Strong Knowledge of life insurance products and market practices in India
  • Advanced SQL / Query skills
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
  • Client focused and self-starter, driven in pursuit of targets;
  • Autonomy, accuracy, attention to details, and excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritize tasks;
