Job Description The Senior Manager – Quality manages the day-to-day Quality

Assurance and Quality Control operations of the FMCG powder processing unit, reporting to the Head of Quality. The role is responsible for maintaining the site Quality Management System,

ensuring sustained cGMP compliance, driving qualification, validation and audit readiness, and supervising the quality team —safeguarding product quality, regulatory compliance and customer

trust across the manufacturing value chain.

Desired Profile

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day QA & QC function, ensuring the Quality system is run and maintained per defined SOPs to fulfil cGMP requirements.
  • Own preparation, review and approval of departmental SOPs, and the issuance, review and approval of BMRs and BPRs.
  • Review and approve master and executed documents — SOPs, protocols, policies, technical agreements, organograms and batch documents.
  • Govern the Quality Management System — approval of Change Controls, Risk Assessments, Deviations, Investigations, OOS, customer complaints, CAPA and product recall.
  • Be accountable for qualification & validation activities at site, including equipment / facility / utility qualification and process validation.
  • Conduct and coordinate the self-inspection and internal audit programmes; face internal, customer and regulatory audits, and drive alignment and closure of CAPA within agreed timelines.
  • Oversee line clearance of dispensing, manufacturing, filling and packing areas as per established procedures.
  • Govern analysis and release of incoming, intermediate and finished goods, and finalise artwork of packing material.
  • Ensure calibration of lab and plant equipment is carried out through NABL-accredited laboratories.
  • Ensure and arrange inspection & testing of ambient air quality, drinking & effluent water, noise and lux levels.
  • Oversee handling and troubleshooting of lab instruments and the upkeep of quality records.
  • Define, track and report quality KPIs; drive economisation of production costs of existing products through in-process supervision of product quality without compromising standards.
  • Maintain cross-functional coordination between Quality, Production, Stores and Purchase, and conduct training of personnel as per the training plan.
  • Provide cover for production oversight in the absence of the concerned Production Manager.

Preferred Software Skills

  • QMS / eQMS platforms (e.g., TrackWise, Caliber, or equivalent)
  • LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • SAP — QM module
  • MS Office (advanced Excel for KPI and trend analysis), document management systems

Required Technical Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of cGMP, GLP and GDP and their application in a powder processing environment.
  • Qualification & validation lifecycle — DQ / IQ / OQ / PQ, process validation and cleaning validation.
  • Quality Management System elements — Change Control, Deviation, OOS / OOT, CAPA, risk assessment and complaint / recall handling.
  • Analytical and instrumentation knowledge — operation, calibration and troubleshooting of lab instruments; NABL calibration requirements.
  • Regulatory and statutory testing requirements — environmental monitoring (air, water, noise, lux) and applicable FMCG / food-safety norms.

Required Skills

  • Strong people-management and team supervision ability within a site quality function.
  • Audit management and regulatory liaison — hosting audits and driving timely, sustainable CAPA closure.
  • Sound decision-making and risk-based judgement under operational pressure.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • High attention to detail, integrity and a quality-first mindset.
