Job Purpose: Lead - QA/QC will be responsible for managing and executing quality assurance and quality control activities for all airport construction and city-side development projects.. This role includes performing quality inspections, reviewing technical submittals, and ensuring compliance with approved inspection and test plans. The Lead - QA/QC will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct audits, provide technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA/QC function.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Control Management:

Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for construction and city-side development projects.

Ensure compliance with established QA/QC procedures and guidelines throughout all project phases.

Setting clear objectives for the team and monitoring progress towards these objectives, providing regular feedback and support to ensure that targets are met and quality standards are maintained.

Budget Management

Assist in preparing and tracking the QA/QC budget, ensuring expenditures align with approved allocations. Provide inputs on cost optimization opportunities within QA/QC operations.

Regular Quality Inspections

Perform thorough quality inspections to ensure that all work complies with the approved inspection and test plans by conducting detailed examinations of materials, processes, and finished products.

Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to maintain the quality of materials, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards before being used in the project, and addressing any issues that arise promptly.

Identify any deviations from the established standards and address these deviations promptly by implementing corrective actions. Ensure Non conformances are timely reported and dealt with Approved NCR process.

Technical Review

Review technical submittals and method statements in close coordination with other departments to ensure that all documentation meets the required quality standards.

Provide technical expertise and support to project teams regarding quality standards, testing methodologies, and inspection procedures.

Review and Inspect the Design / Drawings / Contract / BOQ / Specifications and Provide inputs on Quality norms and practices

Performance Monitoring And Reporting

Monitor and track quality performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of QA/QC initiatives.

Prepare and present regular quality reports to the Head of QA/QC, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure proper documentation of all QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, audit findings, and corrective action plans.

Team Development And Mentorship

Mentor junior team members by providing them with guidance on quality assurance processes and best practices by offering regular training sessions, share knowledge and expertise, and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.

Foster an environment of professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team, encouraging continuous learning and development to build a strong and capable QA/QC team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Facilitate communication between project teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations and requirements.

Qualifications

Education Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Assurance, or a related field. Additional certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) are advantageous.

Work Experience

12+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a lead role.

Experience in airport or transportation project quality management is highly desirable.
