Job Summary
The Senior Manager - Pump Manufacturing Role plays a vital role in supporting the manufacturing strategy by developing capabilities to manufacture parts in India for TPIPL.
Main responsibility of Senior Manager - Pump Manufacturing includes, but not limited to liaising with various stakeholders (within TPIPL and Torishima group companies) to understand the requirement in terms of specifications, delivery and budget limits. Thereafter, work out an agreeable project plan to meet customer requirements and execute as per plan.
This would entail interaction with various functions, namely End users, TPIs, Consultants, Safety, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain for execution of the projects. This role demands having thorough knowledge of Pump parts machining, Assembly and Testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and follow Quality requirements of Torishima standard on the shopfloor.
- Workout cost and submit to GM Commercial for approval.
- Manufacture the Pumps Right First Time (ZERO / minimal rework and rejection): Understand the requirements and clarify doubt, if any, before the start of the project.
- Build the team to support the Manufacturing processes.
- Participate in various meetings and support in solving manufacturing / execution difficulties.
- Create strong relationships with Partners to support growth.
- Organize monthly and quarterly meetings with stakeholders to review KPIs (project execution, quality, and cost) and ensure that action plans are in place.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Graduate Mechanical Engineer with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical and Strategic mind set.
- Total experience 15+ years; out of which 8 to 10 years in manufacturing of
- Various Pumps, viz,. Multi stage, Split Casing, End Suction, Canned, Vertical, Concrete Volute, and so on.
- Ability to deal in an international / multicultural environment..
- Strong ability to lead/coach suppliers in problem solving/root cause analysis and closure by effectively communicating within various levels of organization, both internal and external.
- Knowledge on Machining, Assembly, Testing, Quality, Safety.
