UMEDICA is a vertically integrated company engaged in the manufacturing and export of a wide range of finished formulations i.e., Tablets, Capsules, Suspensions, Dry Syrups, Injectables etc. UMEDICA's manufacturing facility, located in Vapi (Gujarat), is approved by global regulatory. As part of our further expansion and growth plans, we are looking to hire an aggressive and dynamic individual toestablish and lead the Contract Pricing department to support Umedica s US sales.

This position is based at our Corporate Office at Nariman Point in Mumbai.

The remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's professional experience and will be in line with market standards.

Role Overview:

The role is responsible for managing and administering contracts, pricing, and marketing terms and conditions for the Generics Rx business. The incumbent will play a critical role in developing, analyzing, and executing customer-level pricing strategies to drive revenue growth and market penetration across multiple distribution channels, including wholesalers, distributors, and large retail chains.

The position requires strong analytical capabilities, deep understanding of pharmaceutical pricing and contracts, and the ability to collaborate closely with commercial, legal, and business teams to ensure compliant and effective execution of pricing and contracting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pricing Strategy & Financial Analysis

  • Provide regular and comprehensive financial analysis to support pricing requests, including bids, competitive pricing, price changes, and special offers.
  • Analyze historical sales trends, IQVIA prescription data, market intelligence, utilization patterns, costs, and competitive dynamics to formulate effective pricing strategies.
  • Monitor pricing performance based on market share, competition, and profitability, and recommend price adjustments where appropriate.
  • Review, approve, and execute customer pricing strategies and rebate structures in alignment with business objectives.

2. Contract Management & Administration

  • Successfully manage and administer all commercial contracts for product sales to ensure alignment with departmental and company goals.
  • Prepare draft pricing agreements, responses to RFPs, bids, and proposals, and manage communication with customers throughout the contracting process.
  • Ensure all contracts are reviewed, red-lined, and revised for compliance, working closely with legal and business teams on contract terms and updates.
  • Manage contract administration activities, including loading pricing and setting up new contracts in SAP / CMS systems.
  • Ensure pricing is accurately loaded with correct effective dates and avoid back-dated pricing.

3. Customer & Market Coordination

  • Review and proof all customer pricing documentation, including price lists, quotes, bids, and customer notifications.
  • Create and manage customer communications for price increases, price decreases, new product launches, NDC changes, and product discontinuations.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support effective collaboration and execution of pricing and contracting activities.

4. Team & Process Management

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring timely execution of pricing and contract-related activities.
  • Manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Support continuous improvement of pricing and contract management processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification required. [background in costing will be preferred]
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of in the generic pharmaceutical industry. The incumbent should have experience in pricing and contracts. for the US generic business. Gross to net calculation will be an added advantage and preferred.
  • Leadership: Prior experience managing a team is required.
  • Systems & Tools: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP preferred.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, customer needs, financial data, and competitive intelligence will be preferred.
