Value Preposition

Own delivery and operations for mission critical Pega programs. Lead a multidisciplinary team of solution architects, business architects, quality engineers, and release engineers. Drive roadmap, governance, and measurable business outcomes. Maintain a strong technical bar across Pega platform design, testing, security, and CI CD. Include a focused robotics scope using Robot Manager for orchestration where it adds clear value. The role is hands on in design reviews and delivery leadership, not a pure people manager. The role balances strategy, execution, and mentorship.

About the Team: This role is for FCI Lending Digital Automation team under Lending Technology and will be helping the bank build Automation tools like PEGA, Robotics, RPA etc.

Impact (Job Summary/Why This Role Matters)

This role is critical for leading a team of PEGA Engineers and also spearheads the end-to-end design, architecture and implementation of PEGA- based enterprise applications. The Principal Software Engineer servers as a key subject matter expert for PEGA Customer Decision Hub (CDH) and other frameworks, directly defining best practices and collaborating with enterprise architects to align technical solutions with strategic roadmaps.

Key Deliverables (Duties And Responsibilities)

  • Define program vision and quarterly roadmaps across multiple Pega applications. Align with business sponsors and enterprise architecture.
  • Establish and enforce guardrails, coding standards, naming conventions, and compliance targets. Use Pega guardrail compliance as a quality measure.
  • Govern release pipelines. Use Deployment Manager to automate build, test, and promotion with clear quality gates and rollback plans.
  • Ensure modern user experience. Guide adoption of Constellation patterns and best practices where applicable.
  • Lead end to end testing strategy with your QE leads. Require Scenario Testing and Pega Unit coverage with automated execution in pipelines.
  • Own nonfunctional outcomes. Partner with SRE to set objectives for performance, availability, resilience, and security.
  • Direct integration strategy for APIs, event streams, data, and identity. Ensure auditability and data privacy.
  • Run intake and portfolio governance. Triage demand, size epics, and prioritize by value and risk.
  • Manage vendor partners and staffing mix. Set expectations for velocity, quality, and reusability.
  • Track business outcomes. Publish KPIs such as cycle time reduction, case throughput, right first-time rate, and automation savings.
  • Robotics scope ten to twenty percent. Define where attended and unattended automation complements Pega case management. Govern Robot Manager usage for scheduling, work groups, and health reporting.
  • Strengthen discovery and design. Ensure business architects gather and refine requirements and maintain alignment to objectives.
  • Build a learning culture. Run design reviews, brown bags, and post incident reviews. Coach leads on platform and delivery excellence.

Technical Skills

  • Proven success leading large Pega programs at enterprise scale.
  • Hands on knowledge of Pega platform delivery including guardrails, class design, case life cycle, data pages, integrations, and testing practices.
  • Experience operating Deployment Manager pipelines and automated test execution.
  • Working knowledge of Constellation concepts and adoption patterns.
  • Practical understanding of robotics in enterprise settings. Familiar with Robot Manager concepts for work orchestration, registration, and monitoring.
  • People leadership. Hiring, coaching, performance management, and vendor oversight.
  • Strong stakeholder management with senior business and technology leaders.
  • Certifications. Pega Business Architect and Pega Certified System Architect is required. Higher certifications are welcome but not mandatory for this role.
  • Familiarity with CDH or decisioning concepts for future roadmap alignment.
  • Experience with process and value stream mapping and with KPI and ROI tracking.
  • Exposure to accessibility, security testing, and data privacy controls.

Success measures

  • Guardrail compliance at or above target and zero critical exceptions escaping to production.
  • Release cadence that meets plan with automated quality gates and minimal change failure rate.
  • Adoption of Constellation where justified and measurable UX improvements.
  • Demonstrated business value from each quarterly release measured in throughput, quality, and customer outcomes.
  • Effective use of Robot Manager where selected including clear health and throughput metrics.
