Job Description

Title: Sr. Manager, Aftermarket & Warranty

Department: Inventory Planning & Warehousing Operations

Location: Hyderabad, India

Scope: Global Aftermarket, Warranty Fulfillment, Reverse Logistics, VRA/RMA governance, coordination for aftermarket and warranty flows.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Aftermarket & Warranty Supply Chain will lead the end-to-end operating model for global aftermarket and warranty supply chain execution. This role is responsible for connecting demand planning, inventory policy, service-parts availability, warehouse allocation, reverse logistics, RMA/VRA governance, KPI management, and stakeholder escalation into one disciplined operating rhythm.

The role requires a strong combination of strategic leadership and hands-on execution. The successful candidate will build scalable processes, establish clear KPIs, drive system-based visibility, and ensure that aftermarket and warranty commitments are delivered reliably, at the lowest practical cost, and with clear accountability across Supply Chain, Service, Asset Management, Logistics, Sourcing, Product, Finance, and regional teams.

This position will lead a team covering aftermarket supply planning, aftermarket fulfillment, allocation control, and reverse logistics (VRA & RMA). The role will be expected to move the organization from reactive issue management and individual follow-up into a structured control-tower model with clear ownership, escalation paths, documented processes, and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Aftermarket & Warranty Operating Model

  • Lead the global Aftermarket and Warranty Supply Chain operating model, covering demand signal, inventory planning, allocation, fulfillment, delivery confirmation, reverse logistics, and closure of open cases.
  • Establish and run the Aftermarket Monthly Business Review / Control Tower, ensuring the forum is decision-oriented and includes KPIs, bottlenecks, inventory health, service risks, road logistics performance, RMA/VRA aging, and action ownership.
  • Define clear roles and handoffs across Aftermarket planning, VRA/allocation management, RMA/reverse logistics, warehouse operations, logistics execution, and regional support teams.
  • Translate business requirements from Service Sales, Asset Management, Quality, Product, and regional teams into executable supply chain processes and measurable operating standards.
  • Drive standardization of aftermarket processes across regions, ensuring that North America, EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and other active flows operate under common logic while allowing region-specific execution where required. Monitor supplier capacity loading and ensure shipment adherence to allocation plans.

Performance Management & KPIs

  • Define and own the KPI framework for Aftermarket, Warranty and Reverse Logistics.
  • Core KPIs should include OTD/OTIF, order aging, days to allocate, days to ship, days to deliver, delivered vs committed date, backlog, fulfillment from warehouse vs drop-ship, SLA adherence, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, coverage, low-turn value, obsolete / E&O exposure, RMA/VRA cycle time, RMA/VRA aging, logistics delivery performance, expedite cost, and root cause of misses.
  • Ensure effective use of Power BI, NetSuite, Anaplan, MRP and other reporting tools to support operating decisions.
  • Partner with Business Systems / COE to define business rules for dashboards, date logic, SLA calculations, tracking visibility, allocation status, and in-transit reporting.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Aftermarket & Warranty Supply Chain team, including aftermarket planning, VRA/allocation control, reverse logistics, and supporting analysts / coordinators.
  • Create clear ownership across team members, avoiding dependency on individual heroics or undocumented tribal knowledge.
  • Set expectations for follow-through, stakeholder updates, written handoffs, KPI discipline, and process documentation.
  • Build a culture of accountability, data-driven decisions, service mindset, and operational rigor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10–15 years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership in demand and/or supply planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management.
  • Experience with advanced planning tools (Anaplan preferred) and strong analytical skills in Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in solar, EPC/construction, or capital-project businesses is a plus.
