Position Title: Senior Manager MRM Business Systems and Automation

Job Category: AVP

Job Level: L2

Role Type: Hybrid

Job Location: Bangalore

About The Team

The Model Risk Management (MRM) function governs the policies, processes, and oversight mechanisms that ensure models are developed, implemented, and monitored in a controlled and compliant manner. To strengthen the digital foundation of this framework, a dedicated Digital Systems & Automation team is being established to design, build, and maintain systems, workflow tools, and automation capabilities that support end-to-end model lifecycle activities.

This team will serve as the digital backbone of the MRM organization, ensuring that model lifecycle activities are supported by scalable systems, consistent data flows, robust documentation, and integrated governance controls. The team will work closely with Technology, Data, and broader MRM teams to design, build, and maintain solutions that enhance efficiency, transparency, and risk oversight. Its mandate is not only to support existing processes but also to shape the future of MRM by embedding digital thinking, automation, and analytics into the operating model.

While the team's initial mandate focuses on enabling MRM, its long-term vision is broader. Over time, the function is expected to support the wider Risk organization and partner with first-line Model Development teams to uplift tooling, documentation platforms, workflow orchestration, and automation frameworks. This team will serve as a central enabler for modernizing how models are built, governed, tested, documented, and monitored across the enterprise.

Impact

  • This is a foundational leadership role responsible for setting up a new Digital Systems & Automation capability within MRM. The role will shape the strategy, roadmap, and delivery model for tools, systems, and automation solutions that enhance effectiveness, transparency, and governance across the global MRM lifecycle. While the initial scope is focused on enabling MRM, the role is designed to expand into a broader enterprise capability that supports both Risk functions (second line) and first-line Model Development teams. As the organization matures its model infrastructure and digital capabilities, this leader will play a pivotal role in modernizing the model lifecycle end-to-end, creating a function with significant long-term impact.
  • The Team Leader will build this capability from the ground up, including defining the target operating model, tools roadmap, performance metrics, and resource strategy. The role requires some understanding of MRM processes, a good grasp of technology solutions, and the ability to translate functional requirements into system-driven solutions. This leader will also act as the bridge between MRM and Technology, providing strategic direction and thought leadership.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Establish the Function & Operating Model: Design and establish a scalable digital enablement function that supports MRM's immediate needs while laying the groundwork for expansion into broader Risk and Model Development teams. • Lead Development of Tools & Systems Supporting the Full Model Lifecycle: Oversee the creation and enhancement of tools, dashboards, data flows, and workflow solutions that support the model lifecycle. The leader will ensure that these solutions are scalable, auditable, compliant with regulatory expectations, and embedded with appropriate controls.
  • Act as the Strategic BusinessTechnology Bridge: Serve as the primary liaison between MRM and Technology teams by translating functional requirements into structured technical specifications. Assess current-state tools, workflows, and data flows across MRM and first-line model development teams to identify modernization opportunities. Define a structured plan for uplifting infrastructure, improving integration, and enhancing digital maturity.
  • Drive Automation, RPA, and Workflow Modernization: Lead the identification and delivery of automation opportunities using RPA and workflow technologies such as Blue Prism, UiPath, and automation frameworks. Apply Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline operational processes.
  • Manage Vendor Tools & Integration Opportunities: Lead the evaluation of vendor solutions and coordinate build-versus-buy decisions based on functional needs, scalability, and cost efficiency. The role will also manage integration efforts, oversee onboarding, and keep systems optimized through ongoing enhancements.
  • Reporting, Insights & Performance Tracking: Develop MIS and dashboards to track adoption, impact, and system performance. Regular updates to MRM leadership will be required to provide visibility into achievements, bottlenecks, risks, and delivery progress.
  • Lead, Mentor & Develop the Team: Build and develop a high-performing team by recruiting, mentoring, and upskilling talent across both technical and MRM domains.
