Job Description

Frontend Developer – Design System Implementation (UI UX)

Overview

We are hiring a Frontend Developer to design and build intuitive, accessible web experiences that align with business goals and technical constraints. This role leads user research and product design, then translates validated designs into high-quality, reusable frontend components from a Figma-based design system.

Core responsibilities

  • Component-driven implementation: Convert Figma design-system assets into clean, maintainable, reusable UI components using modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar); maintain a component library and design-token workflow to ensure consistency across products.
  • Research & strategy: Plan and run user research (interviews, surveys, usability tests, expert reviews, competitive analysis) and synthesize findings into clear, actionable requirements and success metrics.
  • Interaction & product design: Translate requirements into sitemaps, storyboards, user flows, customer journey maps, user stories, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes; make strategic UX decisions for core and new features; iterate rapidly based on testing and analytics.
  • Accessibility, performance & responsiveness: Ensure all designs and components meet accessibility standards (WCAG), are responsive across devices, cross-browser compatible, and optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Quality, documentation & governance: Produce pixel-faithful implementations, write comprehensive component documentation and usage guidelines, participate in code reviews, and promote frontend best practices and design-system governance.
  • Collaboration & stakeholder alignment: Work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, QA, and business stakeholders to capture requirements, gain consensus, and align on technical constraints and delivery timelines.
  • Delivery ownership & continuous improvement: Lead design work from concept through release—prioritize features, resolve design problems with elegant solutions, ensure timely delivery with multidisciplinary squads, and continuously evolve the design system and UI patterns through feedback and new technologies.
  • Culture & communication: Advocate for user-centered design, ask incisive questions, champion new ideas, contribute to the broader technology community, and balance autonomous work with strong teamwork.

Frontend engineering responsibilities

  • Implement the Figma-based design system by developing reusable, scalable, accessible and performant UI components.
  • Ensure high design fidelity when converting visual assets into code and maintain pixel-accurate implementation where required.
  • Optimize components for performance, cross-browser compatibility and accessibility; write clean, testable code and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, backend engineers and QA to align design intent with technical implementation and delivery timelines.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–4 years of UX design experience with demonstrable work designing complex, end-to-end digital experiences; portfolio required showing UX leadership and high‑impact solutions.
  • Strong experience in user-centered design and research: planning and conducting interviews, surveys, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and synthesizing insights into requirements and success metrics.
  • Proven ability to translate research and business requirements into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes.
  • Hands‑on frontend development skills: HTML5, CSS3 (and preprocessors like SASS/LESS), JavaScript/TypeScript and modern component frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar); experience building reusable, scalable UI components and component libraries.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards, usability best practices, responsive design, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to balance business requirements, technical constraints and user needs.
  • Deep knowledge of responsive and mobile‑first design, performance optimization, and accessibility (WCAG) best practices.
  • Proficiency with Figma and common prototyping/wireframing tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, Balsamiq, Axure, etc.) and experience converting designs into production code with high design fidelity.
  • Familiarity with analytics and session/behavior tracking tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar/Lucky Orange or similar) to validate design decisions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills: able to work cross‑functionally with product managers, engineers, QA and stakeholders, capture/clarify requirements, and present design rationale.
  • Experience with SDLC and common delivery tools: Git/GitHub, JIRA/ADO, Confluence (or equivalent).
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and a bias for delivery under deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with design systems, design tokens, CSS‑in‑JS workflows and maintaining component libraries with documentation and usage guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast‑paced, distributed teams, be receptive to feedback, and adapt to new technologies and project domains.
