Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This person will have responsibility for handling third party commercial contracts related to Oaktree's business and operational activities across different regions including USA, EMEA and APAC. The role will be based full time in Hyderabad.

Responsibilities include:

  • Effectively managing end-to-end review of third party commercial contracts for Oaktree corporate entities across different regions including USA, EMEA and APAC, and advising internal business partners in relation to such contracts;
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating third party commercial contracts including master service agreements, consultancy agreements, service agreements, engagement letters, manpower/ staffing services agreements, SOWs, non-disclosure agreements, work orders, purchase orders, amendment agreements and other vendor contracts;
  • Supporting contract lifecycle management processes;
  • Maintaining and managing contract templates and assisting in standardization of templates;
  • Drafting, developing and maintaining various playbooks, handbooks, guidelines, trackers and other internal processes to effectively manage contracts review;
  • Providing guidance and monitoring new requirements on legal matters, including regulatory issues, anti-bribery, data privacy, cybersecurity and anti-money laundering and ensuring that contract templates are up to date and compliant;
  • Working closely with members of the Legal, HR, Compliance, Accounting and other departments in Los Angeles, London and Hong Kong to coordinate the various responsibilities;
  • Managing and mitigating legal risks;
  • Performing other tasks and projects as necessary.

Experience Required

  • Willingness to relocate to Hyderabad, if necessary;
  • At least 6-9 years of experience with a law firm and / or within the financial services industry or asset management industry;
  • Ability to review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements and proficiency in identifying, assessing and mitigating legal, regulatory and commercial risks;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, practices and industry trends related to contract management;
  • Experience in dealing with senior business stakeholders and managing ambiguity, especially in a highly matrixed organization is preferred;
  • Exceptional English writing, drafting and communication skills are mandatory.

Education And Professional Qualifications

  • Law degree and/or qualifications
  • Specialized contract management experience and proficiency with CLM tools and sharepoint will have added advantage.
