Senior Manager – Institutional Partnerships & Transnational Education (TNE)

Summary of the role:

We are looking for an experienced higher education professional to lead strategic partnerships and Transnational Education (TNE) initiatives for international universities seeking to strengthen their presence in India.

This role requires a relationship-oriented individual who understands both institutional collaboration and student mobility ecosystems.

The successful candidate will develop partnerships that create long-term value for international university clients while simultaneously generating sustainable student recruitment opportunities.

This role will work closely with academic leadership, international offices, research teams, and external stakeholders to design and implement impactful collaboration models.

Key Responsibilities

1. International Partnerships & Global Engagement

Lead the identification, development, and management of strategic partnerships between international universities and Indian institutions.

Develop long-term relationships with:

  • Academic leadership teams
  • International offices
  • Research centres
  • Innovation centres
  • Industry partners
  • Educational institutions

Identify opportunities that create mutual institutional value.

2. Transnational Education (TNE) Strategy

Design and implement TNE models aligned with international university objectives.

Support clients in developing:

  • Joint Degree Programmes
  • Dual Degree Programmes
  • Articulation Agreements
  • Credit Transfer Pathways
  • Collaborative Teaching Models
  • International Immersion Programmes
  • Branch Campus Opportunities
  • Shared Curriculum Initiatives

Provide end-to-end support from opportunity identification to implementation.

3. Research & Academic Collaborations

Facilitate impactful academic partnerships, including:

  • Joint research projects
  • Interdisciplinary collaborations
  • Innovation programmes
  • Knowledge exchange initiatives
  • Research funding opportunities
  • Technology transfer initiatives

Develop long-term research ecosystems that strengthen institutional engagement.

4. Student Mobility & Recruitment Through Partnerships

One of the key objectives of this role will be to convert institutional partnerships into sustainable student recruitment channels.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build partnership-led student recruitment ecosystems.
  • Create student mobility pathways.
  • Develop progression routes and pathway programmes.
  • Strengthen institutional feeder networks.
  • Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams.
  • Increase student applications and enrolments.
  • Design initiatives that improve student awareness and engagement.

The role requires balancing strategic partnerships with measurable student recruitment outcomes.

Act as a trusted advisor for international university clients.

  • Industry partners
  • External stakeholders

Build sustainable and long-term relationships.

6. Market Intelligence & Strategic Advisory

Track developments related to:

  • Internationalisation trends
  • Global student mobility
  • Emerging TNE models
  • Regulatory developments
  • Partnership opportunities

Provide actionable recommendations to clients.

7. Business Development & Client Engagement

Identify international universities seeking to establish or expand their footprint in India.

Lead:

  • Strategic outreach
  • Opportunity identification
  • Proposal development
  • Solution design
  • Client presentations
  • Partnership negotiations

Represent T&A at conferences, academic forums, and institutional events.

Desired Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Education, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or related roles, in the education sector, EdTech / university representation / study abroad sector
  • Strong understanding of Global higher education landscape
  • Student recruitment ecosystem in India
  • Building partnerships or agent networks
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly self-driven with a hunter mindset + relationship orientation
