Senior Manager - Human Resources

Location: Chennai

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Senior Manager - Human Resources to lead the HR Business Partnering function while driving strategic talent acquisition for the Chennai business. The role requires a professional who can partner closely with business leaders to strengthen organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, performance management, and talent development while also ensuring timely hiring of critical talent.

The ideal candidate should possess strong stakeholder management skills, have experience in a fast-paced corporate environment, and be fluent in Tamil and English, as interaction with the local workforce and business stakeholders is a key requirement.

Key Responsibilities

HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with business leaders to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to department heads on people-related matters.
  • Drive the performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews, calibration, and development planning.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
  • Coach managers on employee engagement, productivity, conflict resolution, and people development.
  • Ensure smooth execution of employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and exits.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and improve organizational culture.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labour laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Partner with the HR COEs to implement learning, rewards, HR operations, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Manage employee grievance handling and maintain healthy employee relations.

Talent Acquisition

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for business-critical and leadership positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements and hiring priorities.
  • Develop sourcing strategies through job portals, LinkedIn, employee referrals, and recruitment partners.
  • Drive interview coordination, offer management, salary negotiations, and onboarding.
  • Monitor recruitment KPIs including TAT, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness, and candidate experience.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline for future business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to employer branding and recruitment standards.

Candidate Profile

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institute.
  • 8-15 years of progressive HR experience with significant exposure to HR Business Partnering.
  • Experience in corporate organizations within Real Estate, Hospitality, Insurance and other large Services enterprises will be preferred.
  • Prior experience in both HRBP and Talent Acquisition roles is essential.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, labour laws, and performance management systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic business environment.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Location: Chennai
  • Tamil language proficiency is mandatory
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Willingness to work from office.
