Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Finance Operations will oversee all core finance processes, ensuring

efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the organization. This role will be responsible

for financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, billing, revenue recognition,

payroll accounting, financial controls, and process automation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management & Supervision

  • Lead, guide, and monitor a team of 8 members across accounts payable, MIS, reconciliation, and compliance functions.
  • Allocate responsibilities, set expectations, and ensure deliverables are met as per defined KPIs and timelines.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective measures where required.

2. Process Oversight & Internal Controls

  • Review team deliverables such as payment processing, reconciliation statements, ledger scrutiny, and statutory workings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls and compliance checklists, including due diligence and audit readiness.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing processes and drive automation or improvement initiatives.

3. Compliance & Statutory Monitoring

  • Oversee timely and accurate deposit and filing of statutory dues including TDS, PF, ESI, PT, and GST.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of statutory and salary payables with bank records for both permanent and contractual staff.
  • Review all statutory workings prepared by the team and ensure filings are made within due dates.

4. Reporting & Forecasting

  • Ensure timely preparation and review of MIS reports, dashboards, and financial trackers for internal management.
  • Oversee forecasting and cash flow planning activities by consolidating inputs from various departments.
  • Review and approve reconciliations related to sales, student collections, and payment gateway transactions.

5. Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy

  • Ensure all bank, escrow, and offline payment reconciliations are reviewed and

discrepancies resolved promptly.

  • Maintain oversight of daily reconciliation processes including student fee

collections, gateway, settlements, and offline POS/QR code tracking.

  • Coordinate with the payment gateway and banking partners to ensure resolution of

issues like refunds, chargebacks, and failed transactions.

6. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with auditors, lenders, and internal stakeholders for document submissions,

data sharing, and clarifications as needed.

  • Provide necessary financial data and reports for audits, due diligence, and internal

reviews.

  • Act as an escalation point for finance-related issues within the team.

7. Documentation & Audit Preparedness

  • Ensure all financial documentation is maintained systematically and is readily available for audits, lender reviews, and internal scrutiny.
  • Review document trails related to payments, loans, statutory filings, and reconciliations for completeness and compliance.
  • Required Skills and Qualification:

    • CA Inter (cleared) with 10 to 18 years of experience in finance operations, preferably in a mid-sized or fast-paced organization.
    • Proven ability to manage a multi-functional finance team with ownership of daily operations.
    • Strong command over financial controls, reconciliations, Tally ERP, statutory filings, and MIS reporting.
    • Excellent team leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
    • Detail-oriented, with a structured approach to deadlines and compliance.
    • Role involves hands-on team supervision, daily tracking of operational KPIs, and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Suitable for candidates who can balance compliance, people management, and reporting efficiency in a dynamic setup.
