Job Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end monthly financial reporting for the food marketplace business, including preparation and review of financial statement line items covering revenue, direct expenses, receivables, provisions, and related disclosures.
- Lead the monthly MIS review process for all controllership-owned line items, driving meaningful discussions with business and business finance teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the periodic analysis, reporting, and provisioning of Accounts Receivable (AR) in accordance with internal policies; actively manage working capital for the food business in line with broader organizational goals.
- Lead and coordinate statutory and internal audits, ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) management testing, and due diligence exercises pertaining to revenue — ensuring timely closure with zero material findings.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance SOPs and internal controls across revenue-related processes to ensure accurate and efficient book closure; extend the control framework to upstream data preparation and downstream post-accounting activities as the function evolves.
- Oversee the preparation and resolution of Account Reconciliation Documents (ARDs), ensuring anomalies are identified proactively and resolved in a timely manner.
- Partner with the product and technology teams to represent finance requirements in product development cycles — including contributing to Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for feature builds and finance-led automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with direct and indirect tax teams in the finalization and validation of revenue numbers to support accurate tax filings and assessments.
- Identify and drive opportunities for cost optimization, revenue recoverability, and process efficiency improvements; translate findings into structured SOPs and scalable frameworks.
Desired Candidates
- Qualification: Must have a CA qualification with 5-6 years of post-qualification experience in accounting or audit.
- Background: Any experience with the Big4 audit department or handling similar functions at any startup/new company will be an added advantage.
- Core Skills:
- Ability to multitask based on task prioritization and pay high attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in team management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, AR-related reporting, and MIS.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Technical Skills:
- Well-versed in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Exposure to handling large volumes of data.
- Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
