About This Role
A senior leadership role for an experienced data professional who can build a team, set technical direction, and own delivery of complex data science and engineering programmes. You will operate at the intersection of technical depth and business stakeholder engagement, managing sprint processes, enforcing best practices, and staying ahead of emerging technologies.
What You Will Do
- Screen, interview, onboard, and manage a high-performing team of data scientists and data engineers
- Establish, prioritise, and manage the team sprint process using agile methodology, ensuring work connects to desired business outcomes
- Ensure the team follows technical best practices in building, maintaining, and enhancing scalable predictive models including code version control, pipeline management, deployment, and documentation
- Stay connected to internal and external emerging technologies, proactively recommend high-impact applications
- Establish close collaboration with local and global GPS and IT functional data science and data engineering experts
- Collaborate with USA and Europe-based product development team members and stakeholders
- Apply techniques including machine learning, data science, computer vision, AI, statistics, and applied mathematics as appropriate
- Work hours that provide sufficient overlap with standard East Coast US business hours
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an analytical, engineering, or scientific discipline
- 6+ years working in data and analytics including direct development experience
- Strong project management skills ensuring timely delivery of data science programmes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent leadership and management skills, drive collaboration and deliver results in dynamic environments
- Solid understanding of digital analytics tools and platforms
- Experience with large datasets, data visualisation, statistical software (R, Python, advanced SQL, Tableau)

- Experience managing or leading teams, significant advantage
- Experience in agile environments with JIRA or equivalent tools
- Experience deploying predictive models, cloud-based ELT pipelines, and simulation/optimisation models
- Familiarity with Domino, AWS, GitHub, dbt platforms
