SENIOR TRAVEL MANAGER
Job Summary
The Senior Travel Manager is responsible for developing and managing the company's corporate travel program. This includes overseeing travel arrangements, negotiating with vendors, ensuring compliance with travel policies, and optimizing travel-related expenditures. The role requires strategic thinking, excellent vendor management skills, and a customer-focused mindset to support employee mobility and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve corporate travel policies and procedures.
- Manage end-to-end travel operations including flight bookings, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, visas, and travel insurance.
- Liaise with travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and other vendors to negotiate contracts and secure the best rates.
- Monitor and control travel budgets, ensuring cost-effective travel planning.
- Ensure compliance with travel policy and approval workflows.
- Track and analyze travel data, identify trends, and provide reports with actionable insights.
- Address and resolve any travel-related issues or emergencies promptly.
- Lead and support the Travel Desk team, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Implement tools and technologies to streamline the travel booking and reimbursement process.
- Stay up to date on travel regulations, safety protocols, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure traveler safety and well-being through proactive risk assessments and contingency planning.
- Collaborate with HR and Admin teams to support relocation or expatriate travel arrangements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Travel Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate travel management, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Solid understanding of global travel regulations and risk management practices.
- Proficiency in travel management software (e.g., SAP Concur, Egencia, etc.).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, global corporate environment preferred.
