Job Description

Designation: Senior Manager - Corporate Relations

Department: Career Services

Location: Mumbai

Role Overview:

As the Corporate Relations Manager, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between academia and the industry. Your primary responsibility is to cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate partners to enhance the employability of students. By understanding the needs of both students and employers, you will ensure the effective placement of students into internships and full-time roles, as well as secure opportunities for long-term partnerships with companies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Corporate Engagement & Partnership Development:

a. Develop and manage relationships with a broad range of companies, industries, and sectors to secure internship and job placement opportunities for students.

b. Proactively reach out to new employers and strengthen relationships with existing corporate partners to build a robust network of hiring organizations.

c. Organize regular industry networking events, career fairs, and campus recruitment drives to facilitate direct interaction between students and corporate representatives.

2. Employer Needs Analysis & Collaboration:

a. Understand and analyze employer needs, hiring trends, and skill demands across industries.

b. Collaborate with corporate partners to identify areas where students skills align with industry expectations, ensuring placements are aligned with both student interests and market needs.

c. Facilitate industry feedback on student performance to continuously improve training programs, bridging skill gaps for greater employability.

3. Strategic Placements & Internship Programs:

a. Create and implement strategies to ensure high student placement rates in internships and full-time employment.

b. Work closely with the placement team to match students with opportunities that align with their career goals and qualifications.

c. Oversee and coordinate summer internship programs, including communication between employers, faculty, and students to ensure the quality of internship experiences.

4. Alumni & Industry Expert Engagement:

a. Leverage alumni networks to create opportunities for mentoring, internships, and job placements for current students.

b. Engage with industry leaders and alumni to deliver guest lectures, panel discussions, and skill development workshops to enhance student-industry interaction.

5. Corporate Communication & Branding:

a. Promote the university and its talent pool to corporate partners, showcasing students skills and achievements to increase brand recognition and trust in the university's offerings.

b. Create and manage marketing materials, presentations, and newsletters to communicate student achievements and placement success to corporate partners.

6. Placement Data & Impact Reporting:

a. Maintain and track placement data, ensuring that accurate records are kept regarding students placements, feedback from employers, and overall success metrics.

b. Analyze data to assess placement trends and create reports for internal stakeholders, demonstrating the impact of corporate relations activities.

7. Collaboration with Career Services Team:

a. Collaborate closely with the training and career counseling teams to ensure students are well-prepared for placement opportunities.

b. Provide insights and suggestions to the training manager on emerging skills in demand, ensuring that training programs are aligned with industry needs.

c. Align corporate partnerships with the institution's long-term vision, working with faculty to embed industry requirements into the curriculum.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

● Corporate Partnership Growth: Increase the number of companies participating in placement and internship programs, expanding the diversity of industries represented.

● Placement Success: Ensure high placement rates for both internships and full-time roles by aligning student preparation with corporate needs.

● Industry Feedback & Collaboration: Maintain an active loop of feedback from corporate partners to continuously improve the career services program.

● Student-Alumni-Industry Engagement: Facilitate meaningful interactions between students and alumni/industry leaders to support career exploration and employment opportunities.

● Employer Branding & University Reputation: Enhance the institution's reputation within the industry by effectively communicating student success and skills.

Technical Skills:

● Proficiency in CRM Tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps.

● Strong understanding of corporate recruitment processes and partnership management..

Skills and Qualities:

● Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

● Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.

● Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Experience:

● 7 - 10 years in corporate relations, business development, or related fields.

● Proven track record in developing corporate partnerships and managing client relationships.

● Experience in a similar educational institution or university environment is preferred.

Additional Information:

● Work Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility as needed for events and networking activities.

● In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, you may be assigned other duties or projects as required, depending on your expertise and the evolving needs of the university. Such tasks will be within the scope of your role and may be directed to you at the discretion of the university.
